Jacks of All Trades … Read Full Bio ↴Jacks of All Trades was a Finnish rapcore act.
Jacks of All Trades started in early fall 1997, by efforts of guitarist Lary Launonen who desired to gather around him a band which would play groovy and aggressive hardcore filled with pure energy. After the right guys were found for the job - Tuomas Rajala - drums / Tomi Lehto - bass - they started to work on their music which already in the beginning seemed to have great possibilities to succeed in every hard music scene. Band worked out nice as a trio, but after some time of playing bit punk-influenced shout-based hardcore, they wanted to move on to more modern way of their scene, so they asked for J-Blast to join the band in the beginning of year 1998 and after few shows he was a permanent member of the band. Their music came known as rapcore after this improving change in the line-up. The bassist Tomi left the band to work elsewhere and Jorma Rantalainen joined Jacks in January 2000. Jacks are originally from Jyväskylä, Finland and it is still consired as their home city even though most band members live now in Helsinki.
In December 2001, Jacks of All Trades signed a record deal with Warner Music Finland. This deal was a long waited dream come true for Jacks. First single from new album was released on in the beginning of April 2002. Name of this song is Blacklist of No Good and Jacks shot a video of this song in February 2002. Release of the new album took place on 31st of May 2002.
In the summer of 2002, the same time when superior had finally found it's way to your local record store, the Jacks were facing their biggest change ever. J-Blast noticed that he was no more able to continue in the band. He felt he needed to give more time to his family and finish his studies in the university. This announcement was hard to make to all our fans and it shook the foundations of the band heavily. And now all the remaining band members light candles next to J-Blast's photo every evening. The Jacks played their last gig with J-Blast in October 2002.
After some demo recordings with a new singer, which didn't result in a new rise, the band went to a hiatus. They did some gigs in the course of 2003 to 2005. At this point the members of Jacks of All Trades felt that the band had run its course and decided to end the band. They did a few farewell shows in the spring of 2006 with J-Blast returning to do the vocals and finally the last show at OHM Fest 2006 in Keuruu, Finland.
Since Jacks broke up, Lary has continued to play music with Frail as a guitarist and Jorma as Deep Insight's bassist.

Suffer Of Sweet J
Jacks Of All Trades Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Our lives controlled by addictions and lust
If it feels good just feel free
Everybody else is doing it so why can't we
Just forget about the man who died on the cross
Forget that His death neutralized our loss
Cos it's so much easier to live like a fool
If easy's what you want I'll pull the trigga for you
Yeah so sweet blood of J releases me
Can't you see His pain that made me free
Made me see
Pain - The suffer of sweet J
Pain - The suffer of sweet J
The suffer of J
Satan you have no right to touch me
Cos His blood is all over me
Get outta my face before I'll rip you in half
God will separate the wheat for the chaff
And when He does where are you gonna be
In hell with the devil or in heaven with me
Think about it thought about it
Make your mind up quick
Cos man you don't have to act like a freak
All this Hollywood glamour makes me go insane
Don't let His blood flow in vain
Matthew 6:9-13
The lyrics of "Suffer Of Sweet J" by Jacks Of All Trades speak about the prevalent pain and suffering in the world, caused by various addictions and lust. The song starts by highlighting how addiction and lust have taken over our lives and explores how we have forgotten the man who died on the cross to save us. The singer is asking the listener to think about their choices and how they can make amends.
The chorus refers to the blood of J, i.e. Jesus Christ, and how it has made the singer free. However, it also reminds us that this freedom came at a cost and that the pain and suffering endured by Jesus to save us cannot be ignored.
The latter half of the song then addresses Satan and his influence in our lives. The singer talks about how Satan has no right to touch them because Jesus' blood is all over them. They then urge the listener to make a decision to live a better life and not let the blood of Jesus flow in vain. The reference to Matthew 6:9-13 in the end highlights the importance of prayer and seeking forgiveness from God.
