Afterwards she retired (temporarily) from music business to give birth to a baby girl in March 2001. While bringing up her daughter Teja, Jamelia made plans for a comeback and in 2003 her sophomore album Thank You was released. The album went top 5 in the UK and sold over half a million copies. It featured her fifth top 40 hit, "Superstar", a cover of Danish singer Christine Milton's song, which gave her international success in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The single shot to #1 in Australia and was certified "platinum". Follow up single “Thank You” went to number 2 in the UK and the track “See It In A Boy’s Eyes” which was co-written with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin also entered the top 5.
That year Jamelia won a record breaking three MOBO awards, winning all of the awards that she was nominated for and she was also one of the nominees for the Mercury Music Prize which celebrates the best of British music.
In the autumn of 2004 she also was asked to contribute to the Band Aid 20 single "Do They Know It's Christmas?". She had a big role in the song, singing with fellow British singer Will Young. She also recorded the theme song for the second Bridget Jones movie, a cover of Sam Brown’s song “Stop”. Like her previous songs this also went top 10.
Her third album, "Walk With Me" is out in the shops now, and features the hit singles "Something About You" and "Beware Of The Dog", which samples 'Personal Jesus' by Depeche Mode.

And tell me that is what you want to be
You realise that what you're seeing
Is a replica of me
Inside my world is pretty grim
That even I can't survive in
I wouldn't try 'cause I know you
Deep inside you know you're Guilty as Hell
You realise that what you're seeing is
Just a replica of me only me
Oh it makes no difference if
You're the only one
It doesn't matter when all is said and done
Gonna feel the same
God will put the blame on you oh yeah
If I was you, If I was you
I'd wanna see, I'd wanna see inside my head
I'd wanna know if I was fuckin dead
I'd wanna know what's going on
Someone tell me the truth
There's no fear in a fallen Angel
There's no love in a heart made of stone
There's no truth in a heart that is screaming
Deep inside you're as Guilty as Hell
There's no fear in a fallen Angel
There's no love in a heart made of stone
There's no truth in a heart that is screaming
Deep inside you're as Guilty as Hell
You're Guilty
The lyrics of Jamelia's song "Guilty" talk about two people who are deeply in love with each other and are willing to fight for their relationship despite the challenges that come their way. The opening lines set the backdrop of the lyrics, portraying two lovers standing alone in the street with shadows falling around them, indicating the overall tone of the song – that nothing else matters as long as the two of them have each other. The lyrics emphasize that everyone has their own heartache, and it should be considered a crime to be lonely or sad. The song suggests that love should not be something to be guilty of, as it is the driving force that keeps people going even in the toughest of times.
The chorus of the song highlights the strength of the two lovers and the power of their relationship, stating that they have nothing to be guilty of and their love will conquer any mountain that comes in their way. The lyrics also stress the idea that their love is one in a million, which is evident through their devotion and the fact that they have nothing to be sorry for. They will always find a way to be together and ensure that their love never ends. The lyrics also indicate that the lovers have a journey, a "highway to the sky," which they are embarking on together.
