That was fantastic. This guy needs to get a documentary series on BBC4 or something about the history and importance of the magazine. That Hitler spoof ad about cigarettes was amazing.

I love these guys! I used to have occasional dealings with them many years ago and they're just as fabulous in real life. And I adore the subject of this podcast, James Hyman. He's at the crowdfunding stage now - if lots and lots of people donate just a couple of quid each, his archive can be saved for all time. James and the boys, david still not aware of how a microphone works but never mind! Excellent stuff gents, takes me back to the heady days of studio a and b Hawley crescent. James staggering through reception several times a day with magazines, books, cds and records. David and mark telling stories before recording. Marvellous times and sorely missed. Do some rock and roll stories specials!

I didn't see the original episode but saw one later on - Chris Evans was supposedly shitting himself but still had Shaun on, imploring him to behave and watch his mouth. Thing is Shaun and many others swear without thinking about it, it's just how they talk especially musicians. Having them on live TV at 6pm, what did they think might happen??

I still have every issue of Cover magazine, I used to love it. I'm also currently working my way through approx 60 issues of Word magazine which I acquired just before the lockdown. Very entertaining.
