I don't know what time it is.
My cravings are growing right now
I'm blurry, mistaken
I don't know how long has been,
Without ya'
I need you somehow
Baby, you're the reason
Tell me that you feel it too
I can't control these demons
Nothing like this feeling
Tell me that you feel it too
I'm addicted to you
Addicted to you
I'm addicted to you
I've tasted, I'm wasted
You're everything I need
Nobody can fix me like you
My memory, is fading
I need some reminding
Of how you possess me so good
Can't control these demons
Baby, you're the reason
Tell me that you feel it too
I can't control these demons
Nothing like this feeling
Tell me that you feel it too
I'm addicted to you
Addicted to you
I'm addicted to you
Addicted to you
I'm addicted to you
Sensation growing stronger
I can't hold on
I'm addicted to you
I'll try a little longer
Baby I need ya'
I'm addicted to you
(I'm addicted to you)
I'm addicted
Can't control these demons
Baby, you're the reason
Tell me that you feel it too
(Tell me that you feel it too)
I can't control these demons
Nothing like this feeling
Tell me that you feel it
That you feel it too
(I'm addicted to you)
Addicted to you
I'm addicted to you
Addicted to you
I'm addicted to you
Sensation growing stronger (growing stronger)
I can't hold on (I can't hold on, no)
I'll try a little longer
Baby I need ya
I'm addicted to you
In James Maslow's song Addicted, the lyrics speak to the overwhelming sensation of being addicted to someone. The song begins with the artist expressing his physical symptoms of withdrawal, "I'm sweatin', I'm shakin', I don't know what time it is. My cravings are growing right now, I'm blurry, mistaken." He then goes on to describe how the absence of this person from his life has affected him, "Without ya', I need you somehow." The chorus repeatedly declares his addiction, "I'm addicted to you, addicted to you."
The second verse intimates that the object of his addiction is someone who rescued him in some way. "You're everything I need, Nobody can fix me like you." He confesses to forgetting how this person had "possessed" him, but the memory slowly returns and he realizes that his addiction has grown stronger, implying that he has no control over it.
The chorus repeats, with Maslow declaring his inability to control these "demons" and that the person he is addicted to is the only remedy. The song's overall tone is passionate and desperate, conveying the intensity of addiction.
