I'm only paying the price
I'm trying live life free
Look me in my eyes
Where my soul resides
And tell me what do you see
You only see the flesh
Your such a beautiful mess
Forever in my mind
Burned in my memories
You'll live for centuries
No need for worries
Why you in a hurry
I would slow it down
Your life is Precious
Don't feel too helpless
I would slow it down
Just keep some faith
And watch what you say
And it turns around
Protect your space
Watch where your place
Your vessel around
Life can be crazy like that
Life can make you skip a beat
Life can be crazy in fact
I lose homies every other week
Every day every other week
Momma up momma losing sleep
Just in case If I gotta go when I gotta die
I will be
Cause I've been feeling like
I'm only living my life
Below my truest form
Me and you together
We stand the weather
Withstand the storm
Some of y'all don't know
That I've been depressed
My heart been torn
My heart feels cold
And this liquor warm
I'm about to perform
As I perform I don't feel I'm there
I feel disconnected
Drinking the poison me and boys them
That's unexpected
I've drink so much
My body rejects it
So I just smoke weed
When you see me
When you notice me
Just know that I'm hurting
Did I not put the work in
What the hell am I searching for
Validation
I gotta protect my life and my spirit
Mediation highly needed
I've been feeling too defeated
Gotta repeat it for you one more time
Just in case If I gotta
Go when I gotta die
I will be
The song Coming Home by Jan A.P. Kaczmarek is a reflection on life and the importance of taking it slow, enjoying each moment and being mindful of one's actions. The lyrics speak of the singer feeling like he is only paying the price in life and that he is trying to live life free. The idea of looking into someone's eyes to see their energy and soul is explored, with the singer implying that people only see the flesh and do not understand the deeper aspects of a person. Despite this, memories of those who have passed away will live for centuries and there is no need for worries. The song encourages the listener to slow down, protect their space and prioritize their life and spirit.
The second verse explores the singer's personal struggles with depression and feeling disconnected from himself. He reveals that he has turned to drinking and smoking to cope with his pain and that he feels he has disconnected from himself. The lyrics suggest that validation is what the singer is searching for and that he needs to protect his life and spirit through meditation. The repetition of the phrase "Just in case if I gotta go when I gotta die, I will be" throughout the song reflects the themes of life's fragility, the importance of living in the moment, and the need to be mindful of one's actions.
