In 2005, he bested over 3,000 contestants from 52 countries to win the grand prize in the World Championships of Performing Arts.
There were six categories whereby Jed won the golds. For the pop category, he sang “I’m Your Angel.” For the original song category, meaning a composition from the singer’s home country, he did Martin Nievera’s old hit, “Be My Lady.” For Broadway (“Home”), pop duet (with Risa Navales, they sang (“Last Night of the World”), gospel (“Take Me Out of the Dark”), and for the final song that made him grand champion, it’s Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing.”
He also brought home two Champion of the World plaques, one star trophy for the award Grand Champion of the World in the singing division and a huge diamond trophy for the most coveted Grand Champion Performer of the World.

Where there's love overflowing
I wish I was home, I wish I was back there
With the things I've been knowing
Wind that makes the tall trees bend into leaning
Suddenly the snowflakes that fall have a meaning
Sprinkling the scene, makes it all clean
Now that I have some direction
It would sure be nice to be back home
Where there's love and affection
And just maybe I could convince time to slow up
Giving me enough time in my life to grow up
Time be my friend, let me start again
Suddenly my world has changed it's face
But I still know where I'm going
I have had my mind spun around in space
And yet I've watched it growing
Oh, if you're listening God
Please don't make it hard to know
If we should believe in the things that we see
Tell us, should we run away
Should we try and stay or would it be
Better just to let things be
Living here in this brand new world might be a fantasy
But you taught me to love
So it's real, real to me
And I've learned that we must look inside our hearts to find
Wooh hoo hooh
A world full of love
Like yours, like mine
Like home...
Jed Madela's song, "Home", is a composition that tells the story of a person yearning to return to a familiar place filled with love and affection. The lyrics describe a utopia, a safe place where love is abundant and overflowing. The song tells of wanting to find comfort in the familiarity of a place where one feels secure and safe. The singer's longing for home is felt in lines like "I wish I was home, I wish I was back there with the things I've been knowing". He longs for the wind that makes the tall trees bend and a place where snowflakes falling have meaning. The song shows his appreciation for the small things that make home truly special.
The chorus expresses the singer's hope to go back to his old life, a place of familiarity and love, now that he has gained direction. He hopes that time will slow down so that he can gain back the time he has lost while away. He acknowledges that while his world has changed, he still knows where he is going.
The song concludes with the singer addressing God, asking for guidance on whether to stay or try and run away. He wonders if it would be better to let things be, but he insists that the world taught him to love, making it "real, real" to him. He concludes by saying that he has learned that the world is full of love, much like his vision of home.
Overall, "Home" is a song that touches on the theme of nostalgia and the longing to return to a safe, familiar place filled with love and affection. It is a reminder that home is where the heart is, and that love is what truly makes a place special.
