I saw your face
You're all that I've been dreaming of
Electric eyes drove me insane
Now nothing but your love can move me
Takes me where I need to go
So far the timing is right
It's all that I need to know
It's automatic, it's automatic
I feel love must take its hold
It's automatic. I'm automatic
I lose I just lose control
It's automatic
Oh, you're the magic in my life
Who's flying down to me
Cause nothing but the taste of your love
Can satisfy the need in me
Enough to let your body move me
Takes me where its going to
My love, in the still of the night
Is all I can give to you
With you I just lose control
It's automatic, it's automatic
I feel love must take its hold
It's automatic, I'm automatic
I lose I just lose control
Its automatic, its automatic
With you I just lose control
Its automatic its automatic
I feel love must take its hold
I'm automatic, I'm automatic
Automatic
The song "Automatic" by Jennifer Rush is about the intense feeling of falling in love and the powerful effect that one special person can have on your life. The singer is describing how she was searching for someone to fill a void in her life until she saw the object of her affection and felt an immediate connection. The person's "electric eyes" drove her to a state of insanity and the only thing that can "move" her or take her where she needs to go is his love.
The chorus of the song emphasizes the overwhelming feeling of being in love - it's "automatic" and "takes hold" of her. She loses control when she's with him and the love between them is powerful to the point that nothing else can compare. They share something special that only the two of them can understand. The singer describes her lover as the "magic" in her life and someone who satisfies her needs like no one else can.
Overall, "Automatic" is a song about the intense passion and love that can be found when two people connect on a deep, emotional level. It highlights the power that love can have over our lives and how it can guide us to the most important things we need.

I “missed” Jennifer in her prime—in fact, I only discovered her 2 months ago. I am a big fan of Celine and only discovered Jennifer because I came across Celine’s cover of POL including Jennifer. I couldn’t believe my ears.
I’m 84 and have heard them all, from Ginger Rogers to Edith Piaf to Vera Lynn. Then Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, Barbara Streisand, Dusty Springfield, Tammy Wynette, and Bonnie Tyler. Add Gloria Gaynor, Connie Francis, Laura Branigan, Linda Ronstadt, Rita Coolidge, Celine, Mariah, and Whitney and you have the lineup of the greats right up to Adele and Susan Boyle.
But, Jennifer Rush has the all-around best female voice I have ever heard. Her operatic training adds an unmatched vibrato containing depth and texture. And she sings everything: opera, pop, rock, and ballads in English, Spanish, German, and Hungarian.
She also studied piano and violin at Juilliard. She has written or co-written the lyrics and music for many of her songs, done duets with Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras, Elton John, and Brian May—sorry—Sir Brian May, Michael Bolton, and performed live all over the world—but not in America, except in March and April 1986 on the Carson show and the Dick Clark Show; that’s it.
Why is she the best? Effortless high range: (look at Celine’s cover with Jennifer singing “Power of Love” to see the ease with which Jennifer handles the highest notes.) Listen to “Who Wants to Live Forever” (with or without Brian—Sir Brian—May) as well as “Stronghold”, “Another Way”, “Hero of a Fool”, “I come Undone” and many more.
With her operatic training (her father, Maurice Stern (Mauro Lampi) and step-mother Rita Loving) she developed a superior vibrato, appropriate body language, and perfect interpretation, and because she wrote or co-wrote most of her songs, she injects them with a personal load of musical endorphins that hit your ears and your heart at the same time.
Yes. If Jennifer had decided to live her life in the US, she would still be in Las Vegas or on tour.
