My Romance
Jesus Culture Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
They want to show You their beauty Lord
Running waters dance, You and I romance
Chorus:
Unto You be all the glory.
Unto You be all the glory (repeat)
The angels dance around You
The earth it sings about You
Open up the heavens Lord
Let Your Kingdom come to earth
My praises all surround you
My soul can't dance without you
Open up the heavens Lord
Let Your kingdom come to earth
The opening lines of the song "My Romance" by Jesus Culture describe the beauty of nature glorifying God. The imagery of blooming flowers and dancing waters is used to show how everything in the world is designed to worship and honor the Lord. The second line also suggests that creation wants to present its best to God, almost as if it's in competition to catch His attention. The concept of romance is introduced in the next line, where the lyrics show the relationship between the singer and God. The words “running waters dance, You and I romance” imply a personal relationship with God that is filled with love and passion.
The chorus of the song repeatedly gives glory to God, asserting that every single song of praise belongs to Him. In the bridge, the focus shifts to heaven as the angels dance around God and the Earth honors Him in song. The phrase "open up the heavens Lord" speaks to the desire for the presence of God to come to earth and be manifest in people's lives. Finally, the lyrics conclude by acknowledging that the worship of the Lord is personal and necessary. Without Him, the soul of the singer cannot dance, and they need God to open up the heavens and bring His kingdom to earth.

This song was written by a guy named Rick Pino in about 2003 or so. He wrote it while he was on the worship team at CFNI (a Bible school in Dallas, TX). Beautiful song.
