Hendrix performed in the early hours of 31 August 1970 at the Isle of Wight Festival to a huge crowd with Mitch Mitchell on drums and Billy Cox on bass. In the beginning Hendrix had technical problems, which at one point during "Machine Gun" involved the security's radio signal interfering with his amp's output.
David Gilmour from Pink Floyd has confirmed that he watched this Hendrix concert in person.

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
The lyrics for Jimi Hendrix's version of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band are quite simple but contain a few significant elements. The song is, in essence, a farewell from the band to the audience, signaling the end of their performance. However, the use of the phrase "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" multiple times in the lyrics suggests a deeper meaning.
The band name itself, "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," hints at the concept of an imaginary band playing for a community of lonely hearts. The album cover of the original Beatles version further reinforces this theme with a collage of faces representing their fans, and the songs on the album often contain lyrics that explore the loneliness and isolation felt by individuals in modern society. The repetition of the phrase "Sgt. Pepper's lonely" in the chorus of Jimi Hendrix's version underscores this theme and the idea that the band is creating a space where people can come together and connect through music.
Overall, the lyrics to Jimi Hendrix's version of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band reflect the original Beatles song's themes of community, connection, and the experience of being part of something larger than oneself. While the lyrics may seem simple at first glance, they are powerful in their ability to capture the essence of the Beatles' original intentions for the song.

The fact that this actually happened is insane.
Jimi had balls the size of Jupiter to do this 2 days after it was released with Paul in the audience.

Looks historical- where they learned it on the fly, then opened with it.

He performed Stairway to Heaven in front of Zeppelin I also heard not long after the song was released.
I'm not sure if that's true though.

@Carlos The Rocker not true. That song was made after jimi's death
@Carlostherocker084
@Martin padel I decided to research, and, you are completely correct.
@joe22589
@Carlos The Rocker that is insane - to play a cover of a song in front of the composer before they even wrote the song ))) only Jimi Hendrix could do this * lol
@lgoler
When you watch the original footage, it's incredible how both relaxed and confident Jimi is. He is looking for something with his stagehands, never missing a beat, and nailing the solo portion, all with the Beatles and countless other rock luminaries watching. the re-creation is just hokey.

Any guitar player knows this about him, he could play in his sleep
