Talking Toy Box
Joe Scruggs Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

"Good evening, and welcome to our version of The Talking Toy Box
A story with a little scary music and not so scary tales
Of high technology and low energy
As we begin our story, the family is sound asleep
So relax, snuggle up with someone you love
And enjoy Joe Scruggs′ The Talking Toy Box!"

It was a very, very dark night
In that very, very dark house
Up some very, very dark stairs
Something was there!

And in that very, very dark room
So dark that you couldn't see
Something in my toy box said...
"FEED ME!"

And in that very, very dark room
So black it could almost be felt
A tiny little voice that was mine said...
"Mom and Dad! Help!"

And pretty soon, it wasn′t dark anymore
Mom and Dad came a-running to the door
And Mom said, "Goodness, what was that?"
And Dad was carrying my baseball bat

And I started to explain
"Well, you see
When something in my toy box
Interrupted me."
And it said...
"FEED ME!"

Dad opened up my toy box
But not very wide
And he just laughed when he saw
What was inside

And he said, "Oh, it's nothing
Nothing at all
Just your animated, electronic
Talking baby doll."
"FEED ME!"

"And I think to tell you the truth
This baby, she needs some juice
Yes, she's in pain
′Cause her batteries are drained."
It took...

Five double A′s and six middle C's
Twelve nine volters and ten double D′s
When my dad turned out my light...

And somewhere, a voice in my toy box said...
"I love you! Night-night!"

Why I needed to find this is beyond me. Remember this freaking me out as a kid. Great times

@gracissketches9948

I saw a "stimulation board" like a wooden board with bells and stuff on it. It reminded me of this! It started with the busy box and now I can't stop! This used to scare me soooo bad as a kid, but I couldn't stop watching it 😅 oh the nostalgia

@chrispleasantable

Surprising that the little kids didn’t cry during the scary part

@QuertyQw33n

This song is giving me sing and snore Ernie vibes. For one thing, when the batteries were dying, the damn thing sounded horendous. For another thing, the toy was motion activated. When you laid him down, he did his singing and snoring bit. When you sat him upright, or should I say moved him the slightest, he would say "I feel great.: So you can imagine a breeze or something jarring the toybox in the middle of the night and that toy scaring the absolute baJesus out of someone.

@LucasBradleylpbproductions6

The moral of the story is replace all 33 batteries, which is equivalent to a small battery closet. Otherwise, your baby doll will turn into a hungry, hungry demon.

@QuertyQw33n

if I had a dollar for every time an electronic toy in my toy box had its batteries drain low, making it go rogue.
