After their first two record deals, the band eventually had an identity crisis, “We had bad promotion, a bad record release—bad everything,” recalls Congé. And without ever really taking off, they crashed—and out of those ashes rose the band Savages, which was the brainchild of guitarist Gemma Thompson, who played with John and Jehn. Jehnny became their lead singer, and Johnny stayed on as their producer; with his darkly quiet sound as a solo artist was integral to the band’s development.
Although still together, and not officially defunct as John & Jehn, both spend most of their current time on their other projects.

Mass attack yeah, where's my gun at
I wrote a song, because I miss you
That lies I did it just to diss you
So drunk fucked up, where's my head at
Drove you hear now don't fall into the trap
Doped up, out my mind on sunshine
You can't stop us, it's fuckin' party time
They're coming round here, Ain't showing no fear
Pretty girls they're looking oh so fine
Can't choose so am gonna' make them all mine
Black white who cares don't discriminate
I laugh it off while I smoke my cigarette
Rock n' Roll it runs in our blood
You can hate us we know you're jealous slut
They're coming round here, Ain't showing no fear
They're coming round here, Ain't showing no fear
In John & Jehn's song "fear fear fear," the lyrics paint a picture of a wild party scene full of reckless behavior, drug use, and a sense of invincibility among the partygoers. The singer boasts about his own "rap" and "mass attack" while searching for his gun. He claims to have written a song about missing someone, but then admits that he only did it to insult them. Despite being disoriented and high on drugs, he insists that nothing can stop the party and that everyone is fearless. He expresses his attraction to multiple pretty girls without discrimination of race, and dismisses any hate directed at him and his lifestyle, claiming that it's only because people are jealous. The refrain "they're coming round here, ain't showing no fear" suggests that there may be outside opposition or danger, but the partygoers choose to ignore it and continue their revelry.
Overall, the lyrics suggest a sense of rebellion, hedonism, and disregard for consequences. The party is a space to escape from reality and feel invincible, perhaps in response to societal pressures or personal problems. However, the song also has a darker undertone, with mentions of guns and fear, suggesting that the party scene may not be as carefree as it initially seems.
