Call Me The Breeze
John Mayer Lyrics

They call me the breeze
I keep blowing down the road
They call me the breeze
I keep blowing down the road
I ain't got me nobody
I ain't carryin' me no load

Ain't no change in the weather
Ain't no change in me
Ain't no change in the weather
Ain't no change in me
I ain't hidin' from nobody
Nobody's hidin' fom me

I got that green light babe
I gotta keep movin' on
I got that green light babe
I gotta keep movin' on
I might go up to Califonia
Might go down to Georgia
I don't know.

For 50 years, my father and mother have been playing in clubs. Use to set up their equipment and play with the drums a but. But, I went to the Guitar very early in life. My dad is 80 now and he still plays from time to time. This summer I told him for the first time that I would play a few songs with him and his band at the Kingston Ontario Jazz Festival. Well, I will be doing "They Call Me The Breeze". I thank you for your version as this will be the first song I have ever played on stage with my Dad. It's been too long and this will be a moment I will never forget.

Really good version of the J.J. Cale classic. Another solid job by John's band with Aaron Sterling on drums and Sean Hurley on the Fender P-bass laying down a solid shuffle groove that moves along flawlessly over which John lays down some understated bluesy guitar in service to the song. Nothing is overdone. No flashy "look ma, no hands", BS. Just solid playing all around creating a great vibe to this. Nicely done.
