Moonlight in Vermont
Johnny Smith and Stan Getz Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Pennies in a stream
Falling leaves a sycamore
Moonlight in Vermont

Gentle finger waves
Ski trails down a mountain side
Snowlight in Vermont
Telegraph cables, how they sing down the highway
As they travel each bend in the road
And when people meet, in this romantic setting
They're so hypnotized be the lovely...

Evening summer breeze

Sweet warblings of the meadowlark
Moonlight in Vermont

Forgot about the greatness of this album! Johnny Smith’s light, airy tone combined with easy, swinging guitar pairs well Getz’s feathery, light tone and melodic sax. Beautiful 🎶🎼

John Choat

I have a copy of the original LP, bought in 1952 when I was 15, and it was my intro to both Johnny and Stan......the vinyl is almost worn through.....so timeless!

Alan Senzaki

Timeless beautiful classic. Just lovely from the fifties.🎶🎹🎸

Jim Castile

This version of Moonlight in Vermont is exactly how I imagine it should sound.

Kathleen Reynolds

Beautiful. This song is nothing without sax.

Steve Jamieson

Steve Private

Agreed. This is a special album.

Ronald Unkel

Beautiful guitar playing and (separately) joined by three lyrical-style tenorists creating lovely nostalgic/elegant jazz. Nice upload. Enjoy, toodeloo’s & Cheers!

Gab Chaim

What strikes is the completely incomparable + immediately recognizable sound of Johnny's guitar.
