Although there are only two members in the band they have a lot of energy, both live and on recordings. Ossi plays powerful drums and John prefers to play an acoustic guitar which further characterizes their sound.
Engelbert and Bonde first met when they were 12 and 15 years old, respectively, and started playing together as a duo in 2004. They recorded their first album after only five months as a band, and with only three live shows to their credit. Their self-titled first album was released in January 2005 by a small Swedish indie label; it was rereleased in September 2006 by V2 Music with an additional three tracks.
Their second album, All They Ever Wanted, had its Scandinavian and Western European release in April 2008, followed by a Japanese release in 2009.
Johnossi has toured extensively in Sweden and Western Europe, both alone and with other Swedish bands such as The Soundtrack of Our Lives, Mando Diao and Sibling Sense. They also toured the US in 2007 with Shout Out Louds. In 2009, they made their first appearances in Japan, supporting The Hives.
In June 2010, the band supported Green Day at Ullevi in their home country.[1]
In 2016 "Into The Wild" was used in the USA Network remake of Eyewitness as the opening song.
Musical style
Their music is characterized by a full guitar sound supported by Engelbert's unorthodox guitar rig and myriad effects pedals, and Bonde's straightforward beats; studio releases often feature colorful percussion accents on instruments such as tambourine, woodblock, guiro, and chimes. A variety of musical styles appear in their work, from hard rock, to blues riffs, post-punk, and even gloom-pop, though lyrical themes are almost uniformly personal and slightly angsty.
They have toured extensively since their first album - both as headliner and together with The Soundtrack of Our Lives.

Happiness a La Mode
Johnossi Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
you´d think she´d have the right to choose
love
But I know this one
she´s scared, just so afraid to loose
If you ever would come to my house
at the end of the old mountain road
Happiness a la mode
Oh you will
You said once you could feel
your heart jump out of your chest
love
but that was years ago
now you´re torn, wounded, a mess
If you ever would......
That´s the way it goes
that´s the sound of your feeling inside
a lonely girl, a lonely verse
let this be your light
If you ever would.....
The song "Happiness A La Mode" by Johnossi tells the story of a girl who is beautiful and seemingly has the right to choose love but is too scared to lose it. The singer knows this girl and understands her fear. The lyrics evoke a sense of compassion for the girl who is struggling with her emotions. The singer invites the girl to his house at the end of the old mountain road, promising that she will be on top of the world and experience happiness a la mode. However, the lyrics suggest that the singer is not trying to win the girl over but rather trying to comfort her and give her hope.
The second verse suggests that the girl has experienced love before, but it has left her torn, wounded, and a mess. The lyrics again evoke a sense of empathy and understanding for the girl, who is struggling to cope with her emotions. The chorus repeats the invitation to the singer's house and promises happiness a la mode. The bridge of the song suggests that the girl is feeling lonely and lost, but the singer offers her a light that will guide her through the darkness.
Overall, "Happiness A La Mode" is a song about empathy and understanding for someone going through a difficult time. The singer offers support and comfort rather than trying to win the girl's heart. The lyrics are beautifully written and convey a sense of emotion that is relatable to anyone who has ever gone through a rough patch in their life.
