The album went Platinum in the US. One of its singles had a top ten Pop hit If You Go and a Top 30 hit Mental Picture, which was used in the soundtrack for the film "The Specialist". His third album on EMI, Amor, was released in 1995 and earned Secada his second Grammy for "Best Latin Pop Performance".

Time Heals
Jon Secada Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
It'll never be the same
Not this way again
With someone new
But someone new
Will just have to do
'Cause you never loved me at all
Why'd you stay with me, baby?
You'd let me take the chance
Left me making plans
For nobody, nobody
You said you were waiting
For your heart to fall in love
But you never loved me at all
I was just your friend that's all
But they say, time heals all wounds
I guess you made up your mind, baby
Time heals all wounds
And I hope the time can heal my heart
Heal my broken heart
'Cause I loved you and I was true
You know I've been carrying a failure's cross
I did everything to win your heart
But you never loved me at all
I was just your friend that's all
And they say, time heals all wounds
And I guess you made up your mind, baby
Time heals all wounds
And I hope the time can heal my heart
And what of the nights
When you looked in my eyes
And you told me, you loved me?
You made me feel in my heart
It was real not a spark
But a flame burning inside
Who can put out this fire inside?
Time heals all wounds
And I guess you made up your mind, baby
Time heals all wounds
And I hope the time can heal
Time heals all wounds
Time heals all wounds
And I hope the time can heal my heart
Time heals all wounds
Time heals all wounds
Time heals all wounds
Time heals
In Jon Secada's song "Time Heals", the lyrics describe the singer's heartbreak over a lost love. The lyrics express that while the singer will never find someone new who compares to their past love, they must learn to move on and accept that their past love never loved them in return. The singer is painfully aware that they were just their past love's friend, and that their feelings were not reciprocated. However, the singer still holds out hope that time can heal their broken heart.
In the chorus, the singer repeats the phrase "time heals all wounds." This expression suggests that with time, the singer will eventually recover from the heartbreak and be able to move on. However, the chorus also acknowledges that healing takes time, and it is not an easy process. Despite the pain of heartbreak, the singer continues to hold onto the memories of their past love.
Overall, Jon Secada's "Time Heals" is a poignant and emotional song about heartbreak and the difficulties of moving on. The lyrics offer a sense of hope that with time, healing is possible, but it also acknowledges the pain of the journey.
