Jordan Hill's self-titled debut album appeared on May 21, 1996. Produced by David Foster, Greg Charley, Rhett Lawrence, Jeff Pescetto, SoulShock & Karlin and Mario Winans, this album had the notable production. Jordan covered many songs, such as Cheryl Lynn's disco classic "Got To Be Real", Oleta Adams' "I Just Had To Hear Your Voice" (from 1993's "Evolution" album), Lisa Stansfield's "Make It Right." "For The Love Of You," produced by David Foster and Co-produced by Mario Winans, was release as the first single. It became the minor hit both in Billboard Hot 100 and R&B/Hip charts. However, the remix version by Tony Moran became her one and only Top 10 hit in Hot Dance Music/Club Play charts.
The second single "How Many Times" (which is covered by Aretha Franklin in 1998) and the third single "Too Much Heaven", which is produced by The Bee Gees' Barry Gibb and sang backup, both failed in chart. Due to the poor album sales, 143 Records dropped her.
She still worked with some notable artists, such as The Bee Gees and Jim Brickman, on whose 1999 Top 10 Adult Contemporary hit "Destiny" she was a featured vocalist, along with Billy Porter.

That we spend a little time apart
But one night without you
Is so much for my heart
I know I promised not to call
Sorry, but I didn't have a choice
I just had to hear your voice
Oh, please don't be mad at me
'Cause I really did the best I could
Not to dial your number
But it didn't do much good
Hung up the phone so many times
'Til I really didn't have a choice
I just had to hear your voice
I had to know that you're okay
I couldn't get to sleep feelin' this way
And I had to hear you say, "Hello"
I had to because I love you so
I know you thought it best
That we spend a little time apart
But I had to hear your voice
Though I know it just wasn't right
I just had to hear your sweet voice
Tonight, ooh yeah, ooh yeah
