Jordan Hill's self-titled debut album appeared on May 21, 1996. Produced by David Foster, Greg Charley, Rhett Lawrence, Jeff Pescetto, SoulShock & Karlin and Mario Winans, this album had the notable production. Jordan covered many songs, such as Cheryl Lynn's disco classic "Got To Be Real", Oleta Adams' "I Just Had To Hear Your Voice" (from 1993's "Evolution" album), Lisa Stansfield's "Make It Right." "For The Love Of You," produced by David Foster and Co-produced by Mario Winans, was release as the first single. It became the minor hit both in Billboard Hot 100 and R&B/Hip charts. However, the remix version by Tony Moran became her one and only Top 10 hit in Hot Dance Music/Club Play charts.
The second single "How Many Times" (which is covered by Aretha Franklin in 1998) and the third single "Too Much Heaven", which is produced by The Bee Gees' Barry Gibb and sang backup, both failed in chart. Due to the poor album sales, 143 Records dropped her.
She still worked with some notable artists, such as The Bee Gees and Jim Brickman, on whose 1999 Top 10 Adult Contemporary hit "Destiny" she was a featured vocalist, along with Billy Porter.

I'm here to tell you, you've gone too far
So tell me baby who you think you are
I stood here waitin', only to be stood up by you, by you
Don't try my patience, don't lie again
Don't think that I don't know just where you been
Don't waste your time
With your lines
They don't work on me no more
You got no right
To let me down this way
You got no right
To break my heart again
You got no reason to be leavin'
I ain't gonna ask you to stay
You got no right to treat me this way
You had your chance to keep me by your side
You tried to love me on the slip and slide
Sooner or later your lies are gonna catch up with you, with you
Don't waste your time
Tryin' to find
One more way to change my mind
You got no right
To let me down this way
You got no right
To break my heart again
You got no reason to be leavin'
I ain't gonna ask you to stay
You got no right to treat me this way
Don't waste your time
With your lines
They don't work on me no more

The lyrics to Jordan Hill's song You Got No Right speak about a relationship where one partner's trust has been broken. The singer in the song feels betrayed and hurt, and is speaking out against their partner. The song opens with a warning to their partner that they have gone too far in their actions, and asks them who they think they are to treat someone like this. They stand waiting for their partner, only to be stood up, and they have had enough. The singer asks their partner not to test their patience or lie again, as they know where they have really been. The singer has caught on to their partner's excuses that they have been working, but smelling of perfume suggests something else.
The chorus of the song highlights the rights the singer has in the relationship and how their partner has no right to let them down, break their heart again or leave them without reason. The singer does not want their partner to stay, but they do not have the right to treat them this way again. The song ends with the singer warning their partner not to waste their time with any more lies, and their lines will never work on them again.
This song is a powerful message of self-worth and self-respect. The singer is standing up for themselves and is not willing to be treated poorly. The song's melody is straightforward and simplistic, allowing the lyrics to take center stage. Jordan Hill's vocals are passionate and emotional, conveying the singer's feelings.
