Josef Salvat Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I won't stop, I won't look down
I tried all my tricks, I broke all-new ground
And in this final hour, look what I found
I got this whole damn thing the wrong way around

'Cause people gonna judge and people gonna talk
And they can say what they like
Won't keep me up at night, no
People gonna judge and people gonna talk
And they can say what they like
Won't keep me up at night

Maybe we're still lost
Maybe we'll never learn
But as the dust settles down and I'm glad you're here
I feel I'm finally headed home, headed home, headed home, headed home, headed home, headed home

Moments stuck all over you
That's what I need and that's what we'll do
I could walk a mile in your shoes
I know how it feels to dance like you

'Cause people gonna judge and people gonna talk
And they can say what they like
Won't keep me up at night, no
People gonna judge and people gonna talk
And they can say what they like
Won't keep me up at night

Maybe we're still lost
Maybe we'll never learn

But as the dust settles down and I'm glad you're here
I feel I'm finally headed home, headed home, headed home, headed home, headed home, headed home

Overall Meaning

In Josef Salvat's song "Home," the lyrics convey a sense of resilience, self-acceptance, and finding solace in a genuine connection with someone. The opening lines, "I won't stop, I won't look down, I tried all my tricks, I broke all-new ground," suggest a determined attitude and a willingness to take risks despite potential judgment or criticism. The singer acknowledges that they may have approached life and relationships in the wrong way but remains unbothered by others' opinions. They refuse to let the judgments and gossip of others affect their peace of mind, symbolized by the line, "Won't keep me up at night."

The chorus emphasizes the inevitability of judgment and rumors, with the repeated phrase, "People gonna judge and people gonna talk, and they can say what they like, won't keep me up at night." This showcases a level of confidence and self-assurance, highlighting the individual's ability to rise above the negativity. The notion of being "headed home" reflects finding a sense of belonging and comfort, possibly through a deep connection with someone. This connection is further emphasized in the lines, "Moments stuck all over you, that's what I need and that's what we'll do, I could walk a mile in your shoes, I know how it feels to dance like you."

In summary, "Home" by Josef Salvat is a song about embracing one's true self, not being bothered by the opinions of others, and finding solace in a genuine connection with someone.

[Verse 1]
Time leads you far and wide
The highest mountains, the deepest sighs
Sometimes you end up places you
Never imagined going to
Sometimes you only want to hide

[Pre-Chorus]
So if you ever find yourself
Alone
Come round there's always room for one more
When the wind is blowing cold
You know
All you gotta do’s knock on my door

[Chorus]
Take my hand and side by side
Come rain or shine we'll take it in our stride
It doesn't matter where we go
We’ll find a place we can call home
It doesn't matter where we go
I know a place we can call home

[Verse 2]
When the leaves begin to fall
When summer's fruit starts to grow old
Sometimes the magic starts to fade
It's true that everything must change
All that glitters isn't gold
