All In Due Time

Take a step back, get a good look around
I know I'll find my way out
But just 'cause it gets better
It don't make it better right now
Are all of my tears gonna turn into something?
Is all of this pain just for nothing?
Well maybe someday it'll all fade away
And the weight of the world won't be mine
And maybe I'll say at the end of the day
Who I am made it all worth the while
And these scars will be stories I tell
All in due time
All the ways that I've changed
Still cleaning up all the mess that I've made
The fires I'm putting out
Just 'cause it's over
It don't mean I'm over it now
Third degree burns, yeah, it hurts while it's healing
I'm still trying to get back the feeling, oh
Well maybe someday it'll all fade away
And the weight of the world won't be mine
And maybe I'll say at the end of the day
Who I am made it all worth the while
And these scars will be stories I tell
All in due time
All in due time
Oh all in due time
In the first paragraph, the lyrics convey a message of encouragement to the listener. The line "Get your head out the ground, take a step back, get a good look around" suggests the need to change perspective and see things from a broader viewpoint. The artist acknowledges that while they may overcome their current struggles and find their way out, it doesn't necessarily mean things are immediately better. They emphasize the importance of understanding that improvement takes time, and just because it will eventually get better doesn't mean it's better right now.
The second paragraph delves into the doubts and uncertainties that arise during difficult times. The artist questions whether their tears and pain will amount to anything, or if it is all for nothing. The repetition of "Just for nothing" emphasizes their self-doubt and the fear of their struggles being in vain. They express a desire for a future where the pain and weight of the world won't be theirs anymore, and hope that they can look back and say that their journey was worthwhile. The artist uses the metaphor of scars becoming stories, implying that the hardships they endure will eventually become part of their personal narrative.
In the third paragraph, the artist acknowledges the changes they have gone through and the consequences of their actions. They admit to making mistakes and the mess they created, and highlight their efforts in rectifying those mistakes. Although the situation might be over, they emphasize that it doesn't mean they are over it yet. The mention of "third degree burns" symbolizes deep emotional pain that hurts even during the healing process. They are still trying to regain the emotional connection and recover from the pain they have experienced.
The lyrics of the final paragraph return to optimism, yet still acknowledge the concept of time and patience. The artist suggests that someday, the pain and weight they carry will fade away and no longer burden them. They express a longing for a time when they can reflect and say that their journey, and the person they have become through it, made it all worth it. The mention of scars becoming stories reinforces the idea that, in due time, these challenges will have shaped their character and become part of their personal growth narrative. The phrase "All in due time" serves as a reminder that healing, growth, and acceptance require patience and that with time, things will fall into place.

Cannot get over how much I've sobbed in these last two songs. Josh, your art is doing so much more for people than you know. So so beautiful, so honest, and so peaceful in a gentle, reflective way. So proud of your vulnerability and love for what you do. You are incredible. 🤍

El tipo se reinventa cada año, no es la primera vez que lo escucho, pero ser un cantautor no es fácil, y más cuando transmite mucho después de todo. Que crack que sos Joshua.
