Joyce has in her baggage an extensive discography and about 400 recordings of her songs by some of the biggest names in Brazilian popular music, such as Gal Costa, Maria Bethânia, Elis Regina, Milton Nascimento, Ney Matogrosso, Edu Lobo, Emílio Santiago, Boca Livre, Mônica Salmaso, Leny Andrade, Nana Caymmi, Zizi Possi, Elizeth Cardoso, Simone and many others. Internationally, she has been recorded by big names like Annie Lennox, Wallace Roney, Omara Portuondo, Black Eyed Peas, David Sanchez, Jon Lucien, Claus Ogerman, Gerry Mulligan, Till Brönner, Flora Purim and others. Her compositions have been used in soundtracks for films (such as Robert Altman's "The Player" and "Legally Blonde"), animations (she participated in the soundtrack of the Japanese anime "Wolf's Rain" in partnership with Japanese composer Yoko Kanno), TV shows and theater performances.
She received 4 Latin Grammy nominations and has so far 34 individual CDs and 2 DVDs, besides compilations and participations. Currently, her work also follows an international path, with world tours every year and recordings of new albums in different countries, without ever losing her Brazilian-feminine identity. She performs annually on the Blue Note circuit in Japan, and in jazz festivals and tours in Europe, the United States, and Canada.
O Chines E A Bicicleta
Joyce Lyrics

Como cartola e dona zica
Como a paisagem e o cartгo postal
Como romeu e julieta
Catupiri com goiabada
Como quem fica junto no final
Como o navio e o marinheiro
Como uma fronha e um travesseiro
Como o sorvete e a cobertura
Nгo como um quadro na moldura
Mas como coisa que completa
Como uma curva e uma reta
Como o tesгo e ternura
Como o chinкs e a bicicleta
The lyrics of Joyce's song "O Chinкs E A Bicicleta" describe a pairing of two seemingly incongruous elements that together create a harmonious whole. The song opens with the comparison of a Chinese person and a bicycle, two items that seemingly have nothing in common, but which when put together create a unique and special relationship. The lyrics go on to compare other seemingly unrelated elements such as a top hat and a woman named Dona Zica, a landscape and a postcard, and even the tragic lovers Romeo and Juliet.
However, the refrain of the song emphasizes that these pairings are not just arbitrary or coincidental. Rather, they are complementary and complete each other in some way. It is not just the Chinese person and the bicycle that are being compared, but the idea of two elements that combine to create a sense of completeness and fulfillment.
The song seems to be celebrating the beauty of unexpected pairings and the way that two separate things can enhance and enrich each other. It is a reminder that sometimes it is the most unlikely matches that can create the most beautiful outcomes.
