Stay With Me Till Dawn
Judie Tzuke Lyrics

I don't understand what's going on
I can't see through your frown, first you're up then you're down
You're keeping me from someone I want to know.
And I need you tonight
Yes I need you tonight
And I'll show you a sunset if you stay with me till dawn.
It's the same old situation
Every word so finely placed
Running around my concentration is the feeling that I've just got to break out and say
Oh I need you tonight
Yes I need you tonight
And I'll show you a sunset if you stay with me till dawn.
Is this a game you're playing?
Playing with my heart
Oh stop playing with my heart
And I'll show you a sunset if you'll stay with me till dawn.
The lyrics to "Stay With Me Till Dawn" by Judie Tzuke explore the complex emotions of an individual who is caught up in a relationship that is neither fulfilling nor stable. The song describes the confusion and frustration that the singer is experiencing as they try to make sense of their partner's behaviour. The singer is unable to understand the game their partner is playing, and they are prevented from getting to know someone else they want to connect with because of their partner's actions.
The imagery used throughout the song helps to convey the singer's emotions. The line "I can't see through your frown, first you're up then you're down" suggests that the partner is unpredictable and sends mixed signals. The repetition of the line "Yes I need you tonight, and I'll show you a sunset if you stay with me till dawn" emphasizes the singer's desire to have their partner stay with them and experience something beautiful with them, as if watching the sunrise will bring clarity to their relationship.
The chorus of the song, "Oh I need you tonight, yes I need you tonight, and I'll show you a sunset if you stay with me till dawn" represents the singer's desperation and longing for their partner. They are willing to do whatever it takes to make the relationship work, even if it means sacrificing their own happiness.
Overall, "Stay With Me Till Dawn" is a poignant portrayal of the struggles that individuals face in relationships that are complicated, confusing, and unfulfilling. It conveys the importance of communication, trust, and emotional stability in a relationship.
