Santana began writing rhymes at the age of 12. He was originally signed to Priority Records as one half a duo called Draft Pick. The group had several shows around New York City while together, including Amateur Night at the Apollo Theatre, where they won two weeks in a row. Some time after this, he was introduced to Cam'ron through a cousin; in 1998, he became a member of the group, The Diplomats, whose members include Cam'ron, Jim Jones, 40 Cal, J.R Writer, Hell Rell, Jha Jha, S.A.S, and Freekey Zeekey. He is now signed as a solo artist to Dipset but unlike the rest of The Diplomats, who are signed to Koch Records, Santana is currently signed to Def Jam.
He was voted #2 in the VIBE Vixen top 50 sexiest rappers behind T.I. at #1.
His first album, From Me To You was released by Roc-A-Fella Records in 2003 featuring the singles "Dipset (Santana's Town)" and "Down". It was considered a commerical failure when compared to the sucess of Cam'ron's Come Home With Me and The Diplomats' Diplomatic Immunity.
In his latest work, his second album, What The Game's Been Missing!, features the singles "There It Go! (The Whistle Song)", and "Oh Yes" as he continues his unique flow. He was featured in Chris Brown's #1 hit "Run It!" and in the remix of Mariah Carey's # 1 single "Don't Forget About Us". Santana also had the summer hit "Mic Check" which also is on "What The Game's Been Missing!"
Juelz is best known for his ability to flow without any specific rhyme scheme.

San-tana, AY
(Yep, yep, yep, yep)
Tick, tock
(Yep, yep, yep, yep)
Tick, tock
(Yep, yep, yep, yep)
Move that behind like clockwork
Keep it coming on time like clockwork
Get that clockwork (homie) make that clockwork (shorty)
You hear the sounds of the tick (tick)
You hear the sounds of the tock (tock)
You hear the sounds of the clock (tick)
(And get it right) (tock)
Move to the sound of the tick (tick)
Move to the sound of the tock (tock)
Move to the sound of the clock (tick)
(And get it right) (tock) yep yep
Now lemme see you get that block work rolling
Lemme see you get that clockwork going
Fiends copping by the clockwork flowing
All day and all night
Till them S.W.A.T. cops rolling
Or that clock, stop, going
Tick, tock, tick, tock, ay
Homie, get on the grind like clockwork
Two for five or a dime, that's clockwork
Shorty
You ain't gettin' off the hook that easy
Lemme see that clockwork
She said look that's easy
Move it around, and around, and around, and around like a clock chick
To the sound, of the sound, of the sound of the clock's tick
Tick, tock, tick, tock, ay
Shorty, move that behind like clockwork
And spin around to the sound of how the clock work
[Chorus]
You hear the sounds of the tick (tick)
You hear the sounds of the tock (tock)
You hear the sounds of the clock (tick)
(And get it right) (tock)
Move to the sound of the tick (tick)
Move to the sound of the tock (tock)
Move to the sound of the clock (tick)
(And get it right) (tock) yep yep
Get on the grind like clockwork
Move that behind like clockwork
Keep it coming on time like clockwork
Get that clockwork (homie) make that clockwork (shorty)
The grind on paper chase
The block on day to day
Listen, I'm always ticking
Like the clock on Flava Flav
I could
Give cock, and don't stop giving
So can you
Wink wop, and don't stop whipping
And just
Make that clockwork (tick), get that clockwork (tock)
Shake that clockwork (tick), flip that clockwork (tock), shorty,
Ay, do what you gotta do for that clockwork
Nine to five, side moves for that clockwork
If you a soldier, homie, get you a doja (?) homie
Move the homie, tell him get that clockwork (homie)
Ay, teach him how to mix that pot work
Right to left, all day, he'll get that clockwork
Listen
Tick, tock, tick, tock (homie) AY
That's what I call clockwork for ya
Holla at me, I got work for ya
AY
[Chorus]
[Outro]
I mean nigga
If you gettin' money
That's clockwork
If you hustlin', that's clockwork
Bitch, if you out there sellin' ass, that's clockwork
If you out there pimpin' homie, that's clockwork
Holla at me
AY

In “Clockwork,” Juelz Santana raps about the hustle and grind of making money as he compares the work ethic to a clock. The “tick, tock” sounds signify the passing of time and the need to keep moving forward. The clockwork represents the consistent and methodical approach to making money. Juelz Santana encourages his listeners to stay focused and to keep pushing forward, even when things get tough.
The lyrics also touch on the darker side of making money, referencing the dangers that come with selling drugs on the street. The constant threat of police and violence is implied in lines like “till them S.W.A.T. cops rollin'” and “If you a soldier, homie, get you a doja (?) homie.” Despite the risks, Juelz Santana urges his listeners to keep working hard and stay dedicated to their hustle, whether it be legitimate or illegal.

This song is basically telling us to get on our grind before time is up(hence Juelz saying "tick tock") and time passes QUICK. Bust a move now. Stop waiting around. Nobody's coming to save you. 💯💪🏾
