I can't sit sit still
Don't let me answer the question
When they ask me how I feel
I can't fake a conversation
When I always keep it real
Don't let me go
Don't let me think about it much
No Jack, no Jill, but I've been rolling down a hill, okay
Broke into pieces
But together is the skill, yeah
Amusement is not entertainment
Reality's becoming so basic
Just look at the face on these faces
They like flowers and never had patience
Plenty bloom in they room, daily basis
And they confused and consumed, they ain't famous
Don't be abused when you're using your language
On my life we'll make it right
The clock clicks tocks through the night
Don't let me drift drift drift
I can't sit sit still
Don't let me answer the question
When they ask me how I feel
I can't fake a conversation
When I always keep it real
Don't let me go
Don't let me think about it much
I wanna show you how this feel
No Jack, no Jill,
But I've been rolling down a hill, okay
Broke into pieces
But together is the skill, yeah
Tell me, why you so sad?
You've been moving kinda angry
If you you want it so bad
You know you my lil' baby
Wont let you drift drift drift, no
Know I don't trip trip trip, no
When you shoot just don't miss
And I won't let you go
Wont let you go
Amusement is not entertainment
Reality's becoming so basic
Just look at the face on these faces
They like flowers than never had patience
Plenty bloom in the room, daily basis
And they confused and consumed, they ain't famous
Don't be abused when you're using your language
On my life we'll make it right
The clock clicks tocks through the night
In Julian's song "JOY," the lyrics speak to the struggle of maintaining authenticity and staying true to oneself in a world that often demands conformity. The repeated line "Don't let me drift drift drift, I can't sit sit still" expresses a desire to remain grounded and not get lost or swept away in the chaos of life. It reflects a need for stability and a fear of losing oneself in the process.
The line "Don't let me answer the question when they ask me how I feel" suggests a reluctance to conform to societal expectations and give surface-level responses. It's a plea to be allowed to express genuine emotions and not feel pressured to hide or sugarcoat them.
The lyrics "Broke into pieces, but together is the skill" convey the idea that despite feeling broken or fragmented, there is strength and resilience in unity. It emphasizes the importance of staying together, whether it be in relationships or within oneself, to overcome challenges and find stability.
The mention of amusement not being the same as entertainment and reality becoming basic suggests a dissatisfaction with shallow and superficial experiences. It highlights a yearning for deeper connections and more meaningful interactions. The reference to faces lacking patience and a desire for fame symbolizes a society that values instant gratification and attention-seeking, contrasting with the need for genuine human connection.
The final lines, "On my life we'll make it right, the clock clicks tocks through the night," could be interpreted as a vow to strive for a better future. It signifies a determination to overcome obstacles and work towards creating a life filled with joy and fulfillment. The mention of the ticking clock implies the passing of time and the urgency to make the most of it, to seize opportunities for growth and change.
Overall, "JOY" conveys the struggle to maintain authenticity, find stability, and seek genuine connections in a world that often values conformity, superficiality, and instant gratification. It speaks to the need to stay true to oneself while navigating the challenges of life, and the importance of unity and resilience in the face of adversity.

He’s pretty active still. Following him on ig he has some tunes he put out last year with another guy. The ep is pretty dope imo. Still would’ve wished for him to make more music like this because I genuinely think he would’ve made it.
