Julie Andrews got her big break when her stepfather introduced her to Val Parnell, whose Moss Empires controlled prominent venues in London. Andrews made her professional solo debut at the London Hippodrome singing the difficult aria "Je Suis Titania" from Mignon as part of a musical revue called "Starlight Roof" on 22 October 1947.
Andrews gained fame at a young age in 1950s Britain by acting and singing on light entertainment radio programmes such as "Educating Archie". She rose to international prominence after starring in Broadway musicals such as My Fair Lady and Camelot, as well as musical films like Mary Poppins (1964) and The Sound of Music (1965).
Andrews had a major revival of her film career in the 2000s, in children's films such as The Princess Diaries (2001), its sequel The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004), and the Shrek animated films (2004-2007). In 2005, Andrews made her debut as a stage director with a revival of The Boy Friend, in which she also made her Broadway acting debut in 1954.
She was married with Blake Edwards in 1965 until his death in 2010.

You looked up as I came thorough the door
My head started reeling
You gave me the feeling the room had no ceiling or floor
Ten minutes ago I met you and we murmured our how do you dos
I wanted to ring out the bells
And fling out my arms and to sing out
The news I have found her she's an angel
We are dancing
We are flying
And he's taking me back to the skies
In the song "Ten Minutes Ago" by Julie Andrews, the lyrics capture the feeling of falling in love at first sight. The singer describes seeing someone for the first time, and the immediate euphoria that follows. The lyric "My head started reeling" indicates that the experience was dizzying, overwhelming, and intoxicating. The singer saw the new love interest giving them the feeling that the room had no ceiling or floor, which further extends the feeling of being swept off their feet.
As the song progresses, the singer describes their desire to express their newfound love: "I wanted to ring out the bells And fling out my arms and sing out." This desire to announce and celebrate their love indicates that the singer believes they have found something truly special. They describe their new love interest as "an angel with the dust of the stars in her eyes," further underscoring that this is a one-of-a-kind connection.
The chorus of the song reinforces the idea that the singer and their love interest are experiencing an elevated sense of joy and freedom: "We are dancing, we are flying, and he's taking me back to the skies." These lyrics suggest that the singer and their love interest are transcending earthly limitations and experiencing a kind of ecstatic transcendence. Overall, the song is a celebration of falling in love and the power of that experience to transform one's perspective on the world.

Ten minutes ago I saw you
Just ten minutes ago, I caught a glimpse of you
You looked up as I came thorough the door
I entered the area and saw you looking at me
My head started reeling
I immediately started feeling dizzy and light-headed
You gave me the feeling the room had no ceiling or floor
You made me feel like we were both suspended in mid-air with nothing around us
Ten minutes ago I met you and we murmured our how do you dos
When we first met, we exchanged casual pleasantries
I wanted to ring out the bells
I wanted to celebrate and express my joy
And fling out my arms and to sing out
I wanted to embrace you and burst into song
The news I have found her she's an angel
I wanted to share the exciting news that I have found an amazing person
With the dust of the stars in her eyes
I noticed a sparkle of star dust in your eyes
We are dancing
We are moving together in a rhythmic way
We are flying
It feels like we are floating and soaring above the ground
And he's taking me back to the skies
You are elevating me and bringing me closer to the heavens

Ten minutes ago I saw you,
I looked up when you came through the door.
My head started reeling,
You gave me the feeling
The room had no ceiling or floor.
Ten minutes ago I met you,
And we murmured our how-do-you-do’s.
I wanted to ring out the bells
And fling out my arms and
To sing out the news
I have found her!
She’s an angel,
With the dust of the stars in her eyes!
We are dancing,
We are flying
And she’s taking me back to the skies.
In the arms of my love I’m flying
Over mountain and meadow and glen,
And I like it so well
That for all I can tell
I may never come down again!
I may never come down to earth again!
Ten minutes ago I met you,
And we murmured our how-do-you-do’s.
I wanted to ring out the bells
And fling out my arms and
To sing out the news:
I have found him,
I have found him!
(instrumental)
In the arms of my love I’m flying
Over mountain and meadow and glen,
And I like it so well
That for all I can tell
I may never come down again!
I may never come down to earth again!

Jay - she never had a cockney accent as a child, in fact she had difficulty learning one for My Fair Lady. She had a standard middle class Southern English accent.

CBS presented many amazing musicals over the earlier years of television and many symphonic concerts as well. They presented Julie Andrews and Carol Burnett at Carnegie Hall in 1962 which I think available on the computer...
