Begin the Beguine
Julio Iglesias Lyrics

When they begin the beguine,
Quiero sentir las cosas de siempre
Quiero saber si tú aun me quieres
Quiero volver a empezar

When they begin the beguine

When they begin the beguine
Quiero sentir las cosas de siempre
Quiero saber si tú aún me quieres

Overall Meaning

Volver a Empezar is a powerful love song performed by Julio Iglesias, an iconic Spanish singer. In this song, Iglesias expresses his deep desire to go back to the beginning of his relationship with his lover. The song is filled with nostalgia and a longing to start over again. The lyrics convey a sense of regret as Iglesias acknowledges his mistakes and the consequences of his actions.

The first stanza illustrates the desire to feel the same emotions and sensations as before. Iglesias longs to know if his lover still cares for him, and he hopes to return to the beginning of their relationship. The following stanza shifts focus to the past and expresses his willingness to forget the mistakes and failures of the past in order to start anew. He regrets the way he played with his lover's emotions and is now feeling the pain and sorrow of his actions.

The chorus repeats the desire to feel the way they did at the beginning of their relationship, with the last verse repeating the regret and desire to start over once again. The song speaks to the universal theme of love and loss, and how the pain of losing someone you love can be so profound that you just wish to start over from the beginning.

this record to me is my first holiday abroad in Majorca, hearing this as the sun went down, warm and happy with my family, eating out in the evening. My family are all gone now, how I long to be back there with them. Such happy memories.

He is my favorite singer ❤❤❤

What a beautiful memory. I’m so sorry for you longing for your family. The inevitable idea of that simply terrifies me because I know it will be my case one day.
