Three months after Last Exit's initial U.K. release, Domino picked up the album for distribution in the U.S. The Domino version added a bonus disc with B-sides and remixes from the 12" releases. The relatively slick So This Is Goodbye followed in 2006. The single "In The Morning" was featured in an iTunes commercial in 2007.
On July 10, 2007, Junior Boys second album was revealed as being on the shortlist for the 2007 Polaris Music Prize. They did not ultimately win the prize.
In September 2008, Morgan Geist's album "Double Night Time" was released with five songs performed by Jeremy Greenspan.
On April 7, 2009, the duo released their third full length album, Begone Dull Care on Domino records. The album is named for a short film by Academy Award-winning National Film Board animator Norman McLaren. The front cover gives the band name in French, along with Caprice en Couleurs, the French title of the film; the entirety of the liner notes is presented bilingually, including song titles.
On June 13, 2011, Junior Boys released It's All True. It is the fourth studio album. You are viewing an older version of this page, from 23 May 2016, 1:29. You might like to view the latest version. The music belongs to oren maizlin and only.
Parallel Lines
Junior Boys Lyrics

Or silent through the verse
Will mumble punctuation?
Remembering the line, an empty metaphor
That you savor by yourself
Your never cure
If I forgot the lines, is it easy enough to fake it?
Or do you need a moment to re-memorize
Leers, cheers, whispers and tears
The final taste before you're taken away
Odds, ends, final amends
It's all right to say it
Just as long as you don't really think so
Give me a little room
To get on with concentration
Just enough to know
What I'm missing in education
Borrowing all the hours that you gave to me to
It's a wonder I could ever breathe
Under all our thoughts
We'll hear the final answer
Of all the things you are that have been paralleled
All the voices that were raised and finally fell
Leers, cheers, whispers and tears
The final taste before you're taken away
Odds, ends, final amends
It's all right to say it
Just as long as you don't really think so
Lights
No show
No sex
That's all you get
No wait
No calls
No remittance for what you know
Leers, cheers, whispers and tears
The final taste before you're taken away
Odds, ends, final amends
It's all right to say it
Just as long as you don't really think so
The song "Parallel Lines" by Junior Boys has somewhat obscure and ambiguous lyrics that could be interpreted in various ways. In general, the song seems to express a sense of uncertainty and insecurity, especially in relation to communication and relationships. The opening lines suggest a hesitation to speak or express oneself directly, instead relying on vague, hesitant language or nonverbal cues (mumbling punctuation). The use of metaphors is implied to be a way of avoiding direct communication or confrontation. The lines "Your never cure / If I forgot the lines, is it easy enough to fake it?" suggest a self-consciousness or self-doubt, perhaps in relation to one's ability to articulate oneself effectively. The idea of "model[ing] it like a curse half disguised" suggests a sense of inauthenticity, as though one is trying to put on a performance or hide one's true feelings.
The chorus of the song introduces the idea of finality, a sense of things coming to an end, even as they continue. "Leers, cheers, whispers, and tears / The final taste before you're taken away" implies a sense of closure or a conclusion to some kind of experience. The lines "It's all right to say it / Just as long as you don't really think so" suggest a tension between expressing oneself honestly and navigating the complexities of social expectations or the desire to avoid conflict.
The final verse of the song introduces a new set of ideas, suggesting a feeling of dissatisfaction or lack of fulfillment. The lines "No show / No sex / That's all you get" imply frustration or disappointment in some kind of relationship, while "No wait / No calls / No remittance for what you know" suggest a sense of being undervalued or not appreciated for one's skills or knowledge.
Overall, "Parallel Lines" is a moody and introspective song that explores themes of communication, uncertainty, and the complexities of human relationships.
Line by Line Meaning
If you found the words, would you really say them?
If you discovered the words to express yourself, would you actually speak them aloud?
Or silent through the verse
Or would you remain quiet amidst the song of life?
Will mumble punctuation?
Would you mumble through the crucial moments that define your journey?
Remembering the line, an empty metaphor
Reminded of the words that carry no true meaning, just an empty analogy
That you savor by yourself
That you enjoy and cherish alone, away from others
Your never cure
A flawed part of your essence that cannot be cured
If I forgot the lines, is it easy enough to fake it?
If I forget my destiny, would it be simple to deceive others?
Or do you need a moment to re-memorize
Or would I need a chance to relearn the truth?
And model it like a curse half disguised?
To act it out like a disguised and half-hidden curse
Leers, cheers, whispers and tears
A mixed bag of emotions experienced till the end
The final taste before you're taken away
The ultimate appreciation before the end comes
Odds, ends, final amends
Unfinished business, last-minute preparations
It's all right to say it
It is acceptable to speak out
Just as long as you don't really think so
As long as you don’t believe entirely in those words
Give me a little room
I require a small portion of space
To get on with concentration
To focus and avoid being distracted
Just enough to know
Only adequate amount of knowledge
What I'm missing in education
What I lack in my teachings
Borrowing all the hours that you gave to me to
Taking advantage of all the time given to me
It's a wonder I could ever breathe
It's a miracle I could get by
Under all our thoughts
Beneath all our collective ideas
We'll hear the final answer
We will listen to the ultimate truth
Of all the things you are that have been paralleled
Of all the things that you have experienced alongside each other
All the voices that were raised and finally fell
All the opinions that were loud and clear, but eventually silenced
Lights
The shining beacon of illumination
No show
A disappointing no-show
No sex
No intimacy
That's all you get
That's your sole allotment
No wait
No further patience
No calls
No response to calls made
No remittance for what you know
No tribute for your knowledge and skills

If you found the words, would you really say them?
Or stutter through the verse
With mumbled punctuation?
Remembering the line, an empty metaphor
That you savored by yourself
You're never cured
If I forgot the lines, is it easy enough to fake it?
Or do you need a moment to re-memorize
And model it like a curse half disguised?
Leers, cheers, whispers and tears
The final taste before you're taken away

Just enough to know
What I'm missing in education
Borrowing all the hours that you gave to me
It's a wonder I could ever breathe
Under all your thoughts
You'll hear the floating whisper
Of all the things you were that have been paralleled
All the voices that were raised and finally fell

The final taste before you're taken away
Odds, ends, final amends
It's all right to say it
Just as long as you don't really think so
No lights, no show
No sets, that's all you get
No wait, no calls
No written tests for what you know
Leers, cheers, whispers and tears
The final taste before you're taken away
Odds, ends, final amends
It's all right to say it

"and model it like a curse half-disguised" --> "and mutter like a curse half-disguised"
at least, the line makes considerably more sense that way

Miss the indie electro dancey music scene from the early 2010s. Ah, my early twenties....
This song is so hypnotic.
