We believe that this day is not too distant, but in the meantime, we hold on to hope.

So many wars, settling scores
There have been many conflicts in my country.

Bringing us promises, leaving us poor
However, these conflicts have not brought us progress, only further poverty.

I heard them say, "love is the way"
People have told us that the solution is to love one another.

"Love is the answer," that's what they say
Love is seen as the solution to our problems.

But look how they treat us, make us believers
Despite these promises, we are treated poorly and made to bear the brunt of the consequences.

We fight their battles, then they deceive us
We do the dirty work for those in power, only to be left in the same position.

Try to control us, they couldn't hold us
The powerful have tried to control us, but we have not been defeated.

'Cause we just move forward like Buffalo Soldiers
We keep moving forward like soldiers, despite the challenges.

And everybody will be singing it
This song will become an anthem.

And you and I will be singing it
I and the listener will sing this song together.
