In 1998, he was thrown from a Ford van carrying the infamous band Buzzov•en. They were en route to Cape Fear, N.C. on I-77 and when swerving to keep from hitting a possum, Kirk was thrown from the van onto the shoulder and ended up in a ditch near the Queen City - Charlotte, where he has wandered the streets searching for sanity and a new found purpose. Through his ventures, these various folkish tunes were written to help ease the pain and emptiness of his everyday life.
Finally...earlier this year, with incentive from long time friends T-Roy Medlin and Jimmy Bower, K.LLOYD ventured to Norfolk, VA & New Orleans, LA to begin recording these songs for an upcoming release on Neurot Recordings. His purpose with music has been renewed and recreated in Blues/Acoustic music which is far from sounding like his earlier Buzzov-en days.
Touring will be sparse and these recordings may not see the light until later in 2008 but regardless, K.LLOYD is back.......

Plus noted Lloyd Bridges--wonderful performance and hubba hubba forgot how fine he was as a young buck. He did do the TV show in a wetsuit and pulled it off. But my favorite was his recurring character on Seinfeld of the elderly exercise fanatic trying to train Jerry. priceless. wonderful film thanks

When a man's down on his luck unemployed and a family to support he is pushed to the limit. Thats why an extended family is so essential for helping their folks through hardtimes. This is quite a statement of our American culture which can be less than understanding. Listen to each character even the smallest ones and the dialogue. I felt terrible for the young boy being dragged around and without a stable situation

Great film. Really nasty, despicable character played by Lloyd Bridges. Counterpart beautifully played by Frank Lovejoy as the misunderstood fairly innocent one.

Kathleen Ryan plays the wife not as a downtrodden but as an equal.

You know it won't end well but you still don't expect a lynch mob at the end. It doesn't get to trial but let's you draw your own conclusions, letting you see how difficult it can be sometimes for a jury to make a decision, reflective of the crime.

I may still have this title in my DVR. If not, I'm going to order it on DVD. Loyd Bridges was as smooth as silk in this role and was his hair perfect, or no? His sons have done him proud. I love watching their work too. The most chilling thing about this film is that it was art imitating life as it was a true story. I saw photo stills of what the streets and the front of that jailhouse looked like in the aftermath. It looked like a bomb had gone off.

Even by "B" Grade standards it was pretty cheesy and typically over the top writing and acting, but that's to be expected from that genre. From the early days of "noir" in the thirties, this was about the apex of the industry in the early fifties. I still enjoy chasing them down and every once in a while come across a gem like this one I haven't seen or even heard of. The TV role "SeaHunt" is about the only role I ever liked Lloyd Bridges in, he wasn't on my favorite actors list. Big Thanks to Broken Trout for rolling this one out. 👍👍

When TVs were new and expensive, back then it was like having the only swimming pool in the neighborhood...so if people were friendly, they would be invited, sometimes the host offering popcorn, the guests bringing cookies etc. to watch together. I remember when our downstairs neighbors got a COLOR TV, it was a big deal the weekend they got it, to have us watch, "Disney's Wonderful World of Color, IN actual Color itself.
Oh for the days when things were new, wonderous, and magical.

In most decades where there is poverty there will be crime. I wonder during the prelude and leading up to the lynching, if there was a reason/purpose of having the blind street evangelist preaching as people started hurrying downtown...or was he just added for atmosphere of the chaos of the coming judgement on the criminals and/or mob that lynches them?
The manner/trappings of the preacher were very accurate for the time/genre for some street preachers...may not have been an actor but an actual preacher they recruited to portray himself pleading/preaching to the people. Who knows?

For all his care when dressing, scent, brushing his hair fscidiously, his expensive shirt etc, he pushes his long tailed shirt tails into his trousers after he's put his trousers on and done them up. A real gent would have put the shirt on, then the trousers for obvious resaons. Slipped up there Lloyd . Was he playing against his normal chcarter of a tough guy? That would never happen. 1) I doubt they would have been able to get the front doors of the building open; 2) Where did all the officers go inside the building?; 3) They wouldn't have been able to go up any stairs; 4) They wouldn't have been able to get into the cell block; 5) They wouldn't have been able to get the cell doors open; 6) The Sheriff would have hidden them somewhere; 7) The officers would have fired more tear gas and then they would have opened fire with guns. Ridiculous!!
