Roya na tu, na main
Lekin yeh kya ke chain se soya na tu, na main
Wo humsafar tha... haaan
Wo humsafar tha... haaan
Woh Humsafar Tha,
Magar us se hum-nawa'i na thi.
Magar us sey humnawai na thi...
Ke dhoop chhaon ka...
Ke dhoop chhaon ka alam raha, judaai na thi
Wo humsafar thaa
Magar us sey humnawai na thi...
K dhoop chhaon ka alam raha, judaai na thi.
Wo humsafar tha...
Wo humsafar tha...
Aaannn...
Adaavatein theen...
Taghaaful thaa...
Ranjishein theen Magar
Adaavatein theen...
Taghaaful thaa...
Ranjishein theen Magar
Bicharne walay main sab kuch tha bewafai na thi...
Bicharne walay main sab kuch tha bewafai na thi...
Ke dhoop chhaon ka...
Ke dhoop chhaon ka alam raha, judaai na thi.
Wo humsafar tha... haan
Wo humsafar tha...
Kajal daron,
Kurkura surma saha na jaye,
Jin nain mein pi basay, dooja kon samaye
Beecharte waqt un ankhon mein,
Thee hamari ghazal
Beecharte waqt un ankhon mein,
Thee hamari ghazal
Ghazal bhi wo jo,
Kisi ko kabhi sunayi na thi
Ghazal bhi wo jo,
Kisi ko kabhi sunayi na thi
Ke dhoop chhaon ka...
Ke dhoop chhaon ka alam raha, judaai na thi.
Wo humsafar thaa... haaan
Wo humsafar thaa...
The song "Humsafar" by KK is a beautiful ballad that expresses the pain of separation and longing for a lost love. The song begins with "Tarq-e-ta'alluqat pe roya na tu, na main," translating to "Neither you nor I cried over the differences in our relationship." The singer acknowledges that they both fell apart and were unable to save their relationship, but they both still suffer from the pain of separation equally. The phrase "Lekin yeh kya ke chain se soya na tu, na main" describes how neither the singer nor the lost love has been able to find solace in sleep.
The singer then repeats the phrase "Wo Humsafar Tha" twice, which means "He was a companion," expressing that the lost love was once a significant part of their life. However, despite being their companion or partner, they did not have a mutual harmony. The phrase "Magar us se hum-nawa'i na thi" indicates that although they were in a relationship or were close, they were not on the same wavelength.
The next verse talks about how they once shared everything, from the sunlight to the shade, but the separation didn't occur until the end. They shared everything, but unfortunately, they didn't share empathy, and that was what they needed in the end.
Overall, "Humsafar" is about the pain of separation and the longing felt for a partner who was once a significant part of one's life, but the two were not in sync, and they didn't share empathy.
