Mile zameen se jahan jhuk jhuk aasman
Jahan aankhon mein ho ek pyaara sama
Jahan waadiyon se uthe ruk ruk ke dhuan
Sheher door se hain kahin woh jagah
Jharanon kahai sho jahan daba daba
Jahan bolti hogi woh khamoshiyan
Mein wahan hoon ho tanhaiyan
Mere dil ko na khaye wahan
Kabhi koi fikre jahan
Ae mekhi hawa mujhe le jaa wahan
Mile zameen se jahan jhuk jhuk aasman
Jahan aankhon mein ho ek pyaara sama
Jahan waadiyon se uthe ruk ruk ke dhuan
Pedon ki chaaon ho jahan pe ghani ghani
Suraj ki kirnen ho jahan pe chani chani
Khushboo ho shaam ki jahan pe bheeni bheeni
Mile jahan pe chand se woh chandni
Mein wahan hoon ho tanhaiyan
Mere dil ko na khaye wahan
kabhi koi fikre jahan
Ae mekhi hawa mujhe le jaa wahan
Mile zameen se jahan jhuk jhuk aasman
Jahan aankhon mein ho ek pyaara sama
Jahan waadiyon se uthe ruk ruk ke dhuan
The lyrics of the song “Mehki Hawaa” by KK speak about a desire to be transported to a place where one can find solace and tranquility away from the confines of the city. The singer desires to be taken by the sweet fragrant breeze to a place where the sky and the earth meet, and everything comes to a standstill. The singer wants to escape to a place where there is silence amidst the mountains, where the clouds gather and burst forth into thunderstorms, and the silence is only broken by the sound of waterfalls. The place he desires is one where he can be alone but not lonely and where his mind is not plagued by worries.
The singer further describes the place he wants to go as a place of dense tree canopies, where the sun's rays peek from within the leaves, and the aroma of the evening prevails in the air. He desires to be in such a place where the moon is visible and its beams of light illuminate the surroundings. He again emphasises on being alone in this place, but this does not consume him. So, with the longing for this place in his heart, the singer calls the sweet fragrant breeze to take him there.
Overall, the lyrics of Mehki Hawaa express a longing to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and find tranquillity in nature, even if it means being alone.
