Shoulda Left Me
Kaize Adams Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You loved me in despite
Despite of all my wrong
And now its just too much
To much for me to hide
The feeligs that I have
For the joy of my heart
A second chance you gave
Chorus
Shoulda left me
Long time ago
You didn't, restartin'
My life
It's over now
I'm ready to move on
Verse 2
The changes
I've been through
Been through it all
With you
Caught up in the mess
Of this cruel old world
I believed and stayed
Steadfast
And you wiped the tears
Away
You took me by the hand
Showed me the master plan
Vamp
Turned around
You still were there
Took me out of much despair
You kept me, forgave me
Ready to move on
The solid rock
On which I stand
Gave strength
To the innerman
You kept me, forgave me
Ready to move on
La, la, la
la, la, la, la ,la
La, la, la
la, la, la, la, la, la
Shoulda left me
Long time ago
In the first verse of "Shoulda Left Me," Kaize Adams describes his gratitude towards his partner who stayed with him despite all the wrong things he has done. He confesses that it is difficult for him to keep his feelings hidden and that he feels joy knowing that he has been given a second chance. In the chorus, he acknowledges that he should have been left behind long ago but instead, his partner helped him start anew, and now he is ready to move on. In the second verse, Kaize Adams expounds on how he has gone through different changes with his partner by his side. He admits that he has been caught up in the mess of the world, but he was able to endure it all because of his partner's support. She was the rock on which he stood, and she gave him strength.
The main message of this song is gratitude towards Kaize Adams's partner for sticking by his side and giving him a chance to start a new life. It is also a confession of how he wronged her and how he realized his mistakes. The chorus, "Shoulda left me long time ago," means that if his partner had left him, he would have never learned from his mistakes, and he would not have been able to become a better person. The song is a testament to the importance of forgiveness and second chances in a relationship.
