Viper
Kanute Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Where do you go?
What do you do?
When everything you do, remind you.
Where do you go?
What do you do?
When everything you do, remind you.
Where do you go?
I can't get you out of my mind
Tries and ... it keeps coming, coming.

You think you know me pretty well,
But how can you tell?
You never get inside my head.

But you're ending inside me.

But you can hear me know.
And the ... might.
Baby, don't need you help ... and help ...
But you can hear me know.
And the ... might.
Baby, don't need you help ... and help ...

I feel a ... and feel like change. (No.)
Feels like you're in me, inside of my veins.
Feel that sense that you feel like in.
I feel your every single ...

Where do you go?
What do you do? (No.)
When everything you do, remind you.
Where do you go? (No.)
What do you do? (No.)
When everything you do, remind you. (No.)

I can't get you out of my mind
Tries and ... it keeps coming.
And I can't get you out of my head
Thou I know that you've left
It keeps coming.

You think you know me pretty well,
But how can you tell?

Where should I go?
What should I do?

You never get inside my head.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Kanute's song Viper seem to be about someone who is haunted by memories of a past relationship. The repetition of the questions "Where do you go? What do you do?" suggests that the person is searching for some kind of escape but cannot find it. The singer also confesses that they cannot get the other person out of their head, even though they know that the relationship is over. The line "You can hear me now, and the...might" implies that the person they are singing about may be able to understand their thoughts even though they are no longer together.

Furthermore, the line "I feel your every single... " suggests that the person is still connected to the other person in some way. The line "But you're ending inside me" is interesting because it may have multiple interpretations - perhaps the person feels like their ex is still a part of them, or that they are trying to put the relationship behind them. The final stanza where the singer asks "Where should I go? What should I do?" implies a sense of hopelessness and confusion, as they struggle to move on from the past.

Interesting - this must be an early version (the album version settled on the 'Waves' title and is also 5:28 long).
