Lambada is a dance from Pará, Brazil, of African origin. The dance became internationally popular in the 1980s, especially in Latin America and Caribbean countries. It has adopted aspects of dances such as forró, salsa, merengue, maxixe and the carimbó.
Lambada is generally a partner dance. The dancers generally dance with arched legs, with the steps being from side to side, turning or even swaying, and in its original form never front to back, with a pronounced movement of the hips. At the time when the dance became popular, short skirts for women were in fashion and men wore long trousers, and the dance has become associated with such clothing, especially for women wearing short skirts that swirl up when the woman spins around, typically revealing 90s-style thong underwear.

La la la la la la lala la
La la la la la la lala la
La la la la la la lala la
For you
There might be another star
But through my eyes the light of you it's all I see
For you
But all my heart can hear is your melody
So long ago my heart without demanding
Informed me that no other love could do
But listen did I not though understanding
Fell in love with one
Who would break my heart in two
For you
Love might bring a toast of wine
But which each sparkle know the best for you I pray
For you
Love might be for you to find
But I will celebrate our love of yesterday
So long ago my heart without demanding
Informed me that no other love could do
But listen did I not though understanding
Fell in love with one
Who would break my heart in two
For you
There might be another star
But through my eyes the light of you it's all I see
For you
There might be another song
But in my heart your melody will stay with me
The lyrics of Kaoma's song Outro Lugar depict a love that is deeply rooted, despite the presence of other possibilities. The singer acknowledges that there might be other stars and songs, but for them, the only thing that they can see and hear is their love. The singer reflects on how their heart had warned them that no other love could do, but they fell in love with someone who ended up breaking their heart into two. Yet, despite the pain, the singer is still holding onto the memory of their past love.
In the first verse, the singer expresses that for their beloved, there might be another star - a symbol of someone else that could potentially shine brighter in their eyes. However, even with the possibility of something else, the singer can only see the light of their beloved. It is clear that the singer is still moved and dedicated to their love, as they claim that all their heart can hear is their beloved's melody.
The second verse continues the theme of recognizing that love can bring forth many possibilities, but the singer is content in staying true to the memory of their love. The singer acknowledges that love might bring a toast of wine, but they pray that their beloved will know what is best for them. The singer goes on to say that while love might be for their beloved to find, they will celebrate the love they once shared in the past. The repetition of the last lines of each verse emphasizes the singer's loyalty and dedication, as they state that their beloved might find other things in the future but look back on their past love with fondness.
Overall, the lyrics to Outro Lugar are a testament to the power of love and memory. Despite the heartbreak, the singer recognizes the significance of their past love and clings to it as a source of comfort.
