Karamelo Santo was born in Mendoza / Argentina in 1993 and ever since then developed their own unique musical style. They achieved to gather around them a fanatic crowd of fans from all over the world, ever more since they successfully toured in Europe with "Los Guachos" in 2002. This milestone marked the beginning of a long and deep relationship of the band with the “old continent”, that every year challenges the most established cultural barriers and has permitted them to become one of the best-known representatives of Latin American music in Europe
No tan distintos

you know they move so slow
do they know why they are goning?
do they know why they go?
look into the book of rules
and tell me what you see
are you all that different
are you just the same as me?
Waiting for 1989
we don't want no more war...
Love is slipping away
it slips away so fast
I always thought that it would
last and it would last
look into your book of rules
and tell me what you see
am I all that different?
Are you just the same as me
waiting for 1989
we don't want no more war...
Waiting for 1989
Burruchaga es un pescado
and shut that door.
The lyrics to Karamelo Santo's song "No tan distintos" delve into themes of human movement, questioning our purpose and motives. The first verse reflects on people constantly moving through life, but at a slow pace, without really knowing why they are going or where they are headed. It challenges the idea of following societal rules blindly and asks if we are truly different from one another or if we are essentially the same at our core.
The line "Waiting for 1989" likely refers to a desire for a significant event or change. It symbolizes the longing for a time when there was hope for a better future, potentially referencing a specific year that had significant political or social implications. The next line, "we don't want no more war", expresses a plea for peace and an end to conflict.
The second verse shifts the focus to love. The lyrics suggest that love slips away quickly, despite the belief that it will endure. It raises the question of whether this experience is unique or if others feel the same way. Again, it challenges the concept of individuality and asks if we are all ultimately searching for the same thing.
The final line in Spanish, "Burruchaga es un pescado" (which translates to "Burruchaga is a fish"), seems unrelated to the rest of the lyrics and could be interpreted as a nonsensical phrase or a random inclusion meant to add a touch of eccentricity.
