I agree with all of this and the comments under. And I say that with a monstercat profile pic even if I don't listen regularly since 3-4 years. I felt like musics sounded more generic, and lacked diversity recently. I mean monstercat was always the place where I found the best electronic music because in all genres it was different from all the others musics. It was creative, bold, experimental. It changed too much and I was so much bored by the lack of creativity, always the same thing, in most of all the genres... which is pretty sad, since there is almost unlimited potential!

It must be brave to release experimental/controversial songs to an occasionally unforgiving audience. It's definitely unique and it's really good. I'd say Knock Me Out was pretty deviating and it had pretty good reception, but I guess Stickup is a different animal. Hopefully Karma Fields isn't discouraged by all the hate :/

Karma Fields has always been very divisive, with one camp of people loving all of their releases, and another getting nothing at all out of them. I remember people acting like it is a shame that not everyone likes KF's music, but I think the fact that lots of people don't like it is a direct consequence of why it's so beloved to others - its unique qualities enable it to touch certain audiences in ways more 'typical' songs could never do, while making it less enjoyable for people looking for a more 'typical' experience. This is the same with any art form - I'm never really going to enjoy abstract films, but for some people these films are much more engaging than more 'ordinary' movies, and that's completely fine.

My point is that, what makes this music so engaging to many people, myself included, is the very thing that prevents it from being engaging to others, so rather than being disappointed that it's not as popular as other Monstercat music, embrace the divisiveness.

Anyway, I fucking love Karma Fields. Both super nostalgic to listen to, and fantastic tracks in their own rights, definitely a big inspiration for my own music

If you take the vocals out of the song, the words on the screen are going to be completely useless for anyone who says them, and trying to capture that exact same feeling WITHOUT Juliette's vocals is going to take an extreme naturalist artist on Monstercat like Rameses B. Rameses B ONLY makes natural music.
But even then, it's gonna be REALLY hard for him. Why?
Because Juliette Lewis nailed the aggressive feeling to this song with her vocals! It's amazing!
And I think Modestep didn't do that good of a job for a remix on this song, he took away the aggressive feeling quite a bit.

This song is a masterpiece. It's made to be a dream.
Karma Fields, you are one of those extremely good artists that manages to make a feeling for every single song you make. You create a feeling for every song, an exotic feeling, that immerses us into the song and fits the theme of the song perfectly. Not to mention the visuals are awesome too.
And very few artists have managed to capture this skill in music making.
You, Let's be Friends, Joyryde, Virtual Riot and Madeon are the only five artists that I know have managed to accomplish this feat.

I don't think people understand Juliette enough to understand this song. This is her style and she has her own band. This is an amazing collab and very unique song imo. I can understand why people do not like this, but imo this is pure talent.

Ahaha, judging by the comments, this song was hated in 2016. I don't speak English, but that doesn't stop me from understanding the song's Tex. Many people had ploblems with vocals, but it didn't cause any problems for me. On the contrary, it adds the necessary aggressive tone, which introduces some discomfort, just to match the meaning of the text. There is another song with the same name "Stick up" by grandson and there I did not feel that something serious was happening in the lyrics, I did not feel this mood of "robbery", although the song itself is good. Some even raised complaints about the passage "I didn't kill Romeo". Most likely, it was such an introductory "joke" that was supposed to introduce the listener to a certain dissonance and cause alarm. About bit, which, too, nasyvali "typical" and "not outstanding", Ah, guys, have majority electro a similar RIT, these, as would, and characterized by hanr :Р .Generally, me the song likes, aggressive - this on me. It's also annoying when all the electro has the same scrawny voice, I'm even disgusted by this.
