Prior to being a recording artist, he was a record store owner and a club DJ at a nightclub in Salt Lake City as a way to make ends meet for him and his wife. After he and his wife moved to San Francisco he landed a job as a A&R man at OM records, where in addition to reviewing demos for the label he also submitted his own material, which would pay off big time for him. In 2001 he went from behind the desk to behind the turntables and the recording studio as an artist in his own right. In 2003 Kaskade released his first album, "It's You It's Me", which was well received by critics.
It would be his follow up, "In The Moment" in 2004, that would put Kaskade on the map. The first single off the set "Steppin' Out" would become a major hit on the Dance Radio Airplay that year as well as a top 10 hit on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. His biggest breakthrough would come the week of May 14, 2005, when his follow up, "Everything," would go all the way to #1 on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart.

Gonna follow your heartbeat
Tell me which way to go
Gonna follow your heartbeat
(On my way)
I have dreams of things I can't speak of
I have dreams
As I dream of you
I have dreams
Tell me which way to go
Gonna follow your heartbeat
Tell me which way to go
Gonna follow your heartbeat
(On my way)
Gonna follow your
I have dreams of things I can't speak of
I have dreams
As I sleep, desire escapes me
As I dream of you
I have dreams of things I can't speak of
I have dreams
As I sleep, desire escapes me
As I dream of you
I'm gonna follow your heartbeat
(On my way)
I'm gonna follow your heartbeat
(On my way)
The lyrics of Kaskade & Blue Noir's song, "I Have Dreams," seem to be about following one's heart, desires, and dreams. The repeated lines, "Tell me which way to go, gonna follow your heartbeat," suggest that the singer is seeking guidance and direction. The use of "heartbeat" implies that the guidance is coming from a significant other or love interest since the heart is commonly associated with love and passion.
The phrase "I have dreams" is repeated throughout the song, creating a dreamlike quality to the lyrics. The dreams are described as things the singer "can't speak of," suggesting they are private or perhaps even taboo. The connection between dreams and desire is clear as the singer admits, "As I sleep, desire escapes me."
The final lines, "I'm gonna follow your heartbeat, on my way," emphasize the theme of following one's heart and desires. The repetition of "on my way" suggests that the singer is determined and confident in their path. Overall, the song could be interpreted as a love song where the singer is following their heart towards their desired love interest, despite the secrecy and taboo of their dreams.
