She is acknowledged as one of the most important blues artists of her generation.
Webster was initially best known as a session musician behind Louisiana musicians on the Excello and Goldband record labels, such as Lightnin' Slim and Lonesome Sundown. She also played piano with Otis Redding in the 1960s, but after his death, went into semi-retirement. During her career, she was duet partner to many stars, among them B. B. King, Robert Cray and Rockin' Sidney. Her long professional relationship with the Alligator Records label is also worthy of noting.
In the 1980s, she was repeatedly booked for European tours and recorded albums for the German record label, Ornament Records. She cut You Know That's Right with the band Hot Links, and the album that established her in the United States; The Swamp Boogie Queen with guest spots by Bonnie Raitt and Robert Cray. She performed at both the San Francisco Blues Festival and Long Beach Blues Festival.
Webster suffered a stroke in 1993 while touring Greece and returned to performing the following year. She died from heart failure in League City, Texas, in September 1999.
Since I Met You Baby

I couldn't remember anything I'd said.
My friends told me I was getting out of line.
If it wasn't for you baby, I'd be doing time.
Since I met you baby,
you've made a new man of me.
Since I met you baby,
I'm happy as a man could be.
I used to think I was better than the rest.
Ain't no doubt about it, I was no second best.
Didn't seem to matter what was right or what was wrong.
I did some crazy things before you came along.
Since I met you baby,
you've made a new man of me.
Since I met you baby,
I'm happy as a man could be.
Yes, I am.
Since I met you baby.
Since I met you baby.
Since I met you baby.
Since I met you baby.
Since I met you baby,
I'm happy as a man could be.
One more time!
Since I met you baby.
Since I met you baby.
Since I met you baby.
Since I met you baby.
Since I met you baby.
Since I met you baby.
Since I met you baby.
Since I met you baby.
Well, since I met you baby,
I'm happy as a man could be.
Yes, I am.
Happy as a man can be.
You tell 'em Gary!
Yeah!
The lyrics of Katie Webster's "Since I Met You Baby" speaks about a personal transformation in the life of the singer after meeting someone special. Before meeting this person, the singer was reckless and used to wake up in the morning with an aching head not remembering anything that had happened the previous night. Her friends had to point out that she was crossing the line, and she'd probably end up in jail if she continued living that way. However, since she met the person she's singling about, her life has changed, and she's a new person. She's no longer the wild and carefree person she was.
The song’s lyrics highlight the transformative power of love. The person the singer is singing about has had an immense impact on her life, forcing her to re-evaluate her lifestyle choices and ultimately turning into a new person. The love she's experiencing in this relationship seems to have given her a new zest for life, and she's happy now. She's found real happiness in love, and her life is richer and more fulfilling because of it.

But somehow I always let you mean, send me up this one way road.
Now I´m intelligent enough to recognize a detour sign.
But I´m... how I hate it! I just go right pass the detour sign
and always run into a dead end.
- Yes, I know honey.
- But they always told me that something worth having is worth
waiting for. And I have definitely been waiting a long time.
- Hmmm...Hmmm.
- But you know B., since I met you, I feel that all my strives
and troubles are all over in life.
- Yes, they are, babe. I´m here with you.
- Because I feel like you are the man...
- I am the one?
- ...that I want in my life. Someone who will threat like the
queen I am. The swamp boogie queen.
- I know what you mean... I´m the one you need!
@amaurisilveira
- You know B.B. ...
- Yes, babe.
- Life is hard being down here on the road by myself all the time.
- I know it, honey, I know it.
- And I´m just getting tide.
- How do you spell it, babe, how do you spell it?
- T-I-D-E, tide.
- Yeah, I got it, I got it.
- Sometimes it... it makes me feel like I wanna clean up my air.
