This phrase can be translated to “Oh naive heart, what has happened to you?” which suggests the confusion and bewilderment of the singer about the pain she feels in her heart. In the following lines “Aakhir is dard ki dawaa kya hai”, the singer wonders about the remedy for this pain as it seems almost incurable.
In the next stanza, the singer talks about two individuals, one who is desperately in love while the other is tired of it. She questions the almighty with “Ya ilahi yeh maajra kya hai”, questioning the reason behind this unrequited love. The last stanza talks about the singer who hopes for love and care from her beloved but is unsure if they even know the meaning of the word “wafa” which means faithfulness and loyalty.
