What the Lord Has Done in Me
Keith Lancaster & the Acappella Company Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Let the weak say "I am strong"
Let the poor say "I am rich"
Let the blind say "I can see"
Itβ€²s what the Lord has done in me

Let the weak say "I am strong"
Let the poor say "I am rich"
Let the blind say "I can see"
It's what the Lord has done in me

Hosanna, hosanna
To the Lamb that was slain
Hosanna, hosanna
Jesus died and rose again

Into the river I will wade
There my sins are washed away
From the heavens mercy stream
Of the Saviorβ€²s love for me

Hosanna, hosanna
To the Lamb that was slain
Hosanna, hosanna
Jesus died and rose again

I will rise from waters deep
Into the saving arms of God
I will sing salvation songs
Jesus Christ has set me free

Hosanna (hosanna)
Hosanna (hosanna)
To the Lamb that was slain
Hosanna (hosanna)
Hosanna (hosanna)
Jesus died and rose again

Hosanna (hosanna)
Hosanna (hosanna)
To the Lamb that was slain
Hosanna (hosanna)

Hosanna (hosanna)
Jesus died and rose again

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Keith Lancaster & the Acappella Company's song What the Lord Has Done in Me speak to the transformative power of Jesus Christ in one's life. The first verse repeats the phrases "Let the weak say 'I am strong'," "Let the poor say 'I am rich'," and "Let the blind say 'I can see'" to emphasize that through Jesus, all things are possible. It is by his grace and mercy that individuals are able to overcome their weaknesses and obstacles, gaining strength and abundance in their lives. The phrase "It's what the Lord has done in me" is a reflection on the personal nature of one's relationship with God and how he can work miracles within an individual's heart.

The second verse speaks more directly to the sacrifice that Jesus made for humanity. "Hosanna, hosanna" is a statement of praise and adoration for Jesus as the lamb that was slain, dying for the sins of the world. The verse also speaks to the resurrection of Jesus and the hope that his death and resurrection offer to believers. The final verse speaks to the act of baptism, symbolically washing away one's sins and rising into the "saving arms of God." The song concludes with further declarations of praise and adoration for Jesus and his sacrifice.

I’m 14 and I have handed my life to Christ during quarantine. Best decision ever. Broke me from the early depression, sadness, guilt, insecurities, bad friend groups, idols, obsession, worries, stress, etc. I love my God so much. I pray for everyone to find Him.

Hi FavoriteHillsongWorshipMusic,
I hope you will watch this 30 minute YouTube video "Why are there so many churches". You might find it interesting. Take care.

That is really wonderful!!!! This singing will really bless you. I encourage you to find a group like this somewhere and sing these old hymns, which contain loads of scripture and loads of Truths and Promises, instead of Hillsong. Nothing has blessed me more except these wonderful hymns, even though I am a Pentecostal minister. They really move me in the Power of the Holy Spirit.

May GOD continue to bless you and walk with you. I have prayed for you. Your destiny is assured as you trust in Him. GOD bless you again and again!

Amen! God bless you and life with Jesus is a blessing. Hardship is still present and we are not spared heartache and loss, grief and pain but Jesus said that He will be with us until the end of time. We are to be faithful to him. He says that if we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us. I find that if I read the Bible daily and pray daily, God strengthens me. I want to please him and I pray the same for you!!
