4) Ken is the name of the swedish hiphop artist Ken Ring. During the late nineties he emerged as one of the first rappers in the second swedish hip-hop wave. It was during this time that artists such as Blues, Petter and Thomas Rusiak. He released his debut album, one of the first hip hop albums to be released in swedish, during the spring of 1998. To this date he has released 8 albums, including one that was made in collaboration with norwegian producer/legend Tommy Tee.
Unlike most other Swedish rappers Ken attracted alot of controversy, because of his tendency to bring out social issues such as crime, jail, drugs and ethnic integration in his songs. Especially controvercial was his song "Stockholms blodbad" (translated "the Stockholm Blood-bath"). In this song he is perceived as promoting the murder of the royal family as well as the rape of the princesse. Although he himself claims the statements of the song to be of a strictly rhetorical type, Swedish media and opinion were unforgiving. Ken was shunned from social events and popular media for a long time. Most of his supporters cite this as evidence of the cowardly way in which Swedish media never misses a chance to scrutinize uncomfortable outsiders.

How to delay the Spread of Fire
Ken Lyrics

It whispers what it has to
But you don´t speak
A piece is smoked when you´re on fire
It burns out what you are hiding, what you desire
But here it comes
It takes a seat
It blesses your feet
Bbut you don´t have to believe in me
Believe in me
You came to show me how it bites
The rest of it will realize
You close your eyes while the light is crashing in
You hear these voices calling
They are saying that it´s a sin
But here it comes
It takes a seat
It knocks you down
It blesses your feet
But you don´t have to believe in me
Believe in me.
The lyrics of Ken's song "How to delay the Spread of Fire" delve into the emotions of someone who is striving to hide their true self, but is faced with the eventual exposure of their innermost desires. The opening lines, "Defense sells out what you've peaked, It whispers what it has to, But you don't speak," portrays an individual who is guarded and unforthcoming, though their defenses will eventually crumble to the truth that they are trying to suppress. The phrase "A piece is smoked when you're on fire" indicates that this person has been trying to keep their true self under wraps, but their facade will burn out like a piece of wood in a fire.
However, the chorus of the song is optimistic, with the lines "But here it comes, it takes a seat, it tears you down, it blesses your feet. But you don't have to believe in me, believe in me." This can be interpreted as the person finally accepting their true self, allowing themselves to be vulnerable and tearing down their walls, leading to personal growth and development. The phrase "it blesses your feet" could be a reference to a spiritual or emotional awakening.
The bridge of the song addresses the struggle that this person is feeling. "You came to show me how it bites, the rest of it will realize. You close your eyes while the light is crashing in. You hear these voices calling, they are saying that it's a sin." Here, the person is addressed as having been the one to show someone else the pain of vulnerability, but they are now struggling to accept it for themselves. The light crashing in could represent the harsh reality that is being forced upon them, but they recognize it as the truth. The voices calling them a sinner could be symbolic of their inner critic or outside societal pressures.
