Heaven sent an angel to me to save me from life's misery
I thought I had found true love and happiness, as if God himself had sent an angel to rescue me from all my past sorrows.

She seemed to fall right outta the sky
The sudden appearance of this supposed angel was unlike anything I had ever experienced before, almost as if she had dropped out of the heavens and into my life.

I caught her here in my arms
As soon as I laid eyes on her, I knew that she was mine and I embraced her fully, hoping that we would fly away together like in a fairy tale.

Well life was pretty peachy things were really keen
For a while, everything in my life was perfect and lovely; there wasn't a cloud in the sky and my heart was brimming with joy and love.

All the sudden that ol' gal got mean
But then, without any warning or explanation, she changed in front of my very eyes and became cruel, spiteful, and harsh.

Her wings fell off she started turnin' red
As if a spell had been broken or a veil lifted, her true nature was laid bare for me to see, and I watched in horror as everything that had once seemed angelic about her melted away.

And that old broken halo fell right off of her head yeah?
Ultimately, I realized that she was not the divine being I had thought her to be — her halo, symbolizing her goodness and purity, was shattered beyond repair.

Stealin' the soul of every man she can find
One of the primary ways this devil does her 'dirty work' is by seducing and tricking men into giving up their virtue, self-respect, and dignity, leaving them empty and hollow like hollow husks.

The physical beauty and charm of this devil are nothing more than a ruse or distraction, designed to trick people into lowering their defenses and exposing their weaknesses.
