Screaming Out My Name
Kevin Lyttle Lyrics

And the lonesome just won′t go away
That's when your restless spirit haunts me
And I swear, I hear you call my name
I always loved the sound of your sweet voice
But now that sound makes my poor heart break
You′re long gone, baby, that's for certain
'Cause I′m a hurtin′, when I hear you call my name
That we will meet in the place where lost souls stay
Maybe then, when I look over my shoulder
You'll be there, when I hear you call my name
I always loved the sound of your sweet voice
But now that sound makes my poor heart break
You′re long gone, baby, that's for certain
′Cause I'm a hurtin′, when I hear you call my name
I'm certain, I hear you call my name
In Kevin Lyttle's song "Screaming Out My Name," the singer is haunted by the memory of his lost love. The lyrics depict a sense of isolation and loneliness, as the singer is left alone in an aging house. The quietness of the house seems unyielding, and the loneliness of the singer only intensifies. The restless spirit of his lost love haunts him, and in his mind he can hear her calling out his name.
The singer's memories of his lost love are bitter-sweet, and he is conflicted by his feelings. He loved the sound of her voice, but now it breaks his heart to hear it because she is gone. He hopes that one day they will be reunited in the afterlife where "lost souls stay" and he will be able to see her again. He longs to hear her voice call his name again, despite the pain it brings him.
The lyrics of this song express the raw emotions of losing someone you love. The longing for their presence and the pain of their absence are palpable throughout the song. The singer's hope for a reunion in the afterlife is a bittersweet yet comforting thought for those who have lost someone close to them.
