You got yours and I got mine
All the times you felt the pain and seen the glory
It feels good to be alive
Now I can hear the sound
Of heartbeats all around
You know there's magic in the night
Like you're so far from home
Something always turns out right
So here's to us
And all our broken dreams
That never came to pass
We're still kings and queens
Here's to all we loved
That wasn't meant to last
Here's to everyone
Who said we never had a chance
Here's to us
Monday comes around
Your world is upside down
Feeling good in the worst way
The story's just beginning
Time we did some living
I can't wait to hear you say
It's on the radio
It's everywhere we go
The music's gonna save your life
So come on clap your hands
Remember when we danced
And raise your glass tonight
So here's to us
And all our broken dreams
That never came to pass
We're still kings and queens
Here's to all we loved
That wasn't meant to last
Here's to everyone
Who said we never had a chance
Here's to us
The night feels so long
When your heart's not filled with song
And may your dreams never leave you
Even when you've lost it all
So here's to us
And all our broken dreams
That never came to pass
We're still kings and queens
Here's to all we loved
That wasn't meant to last
Here's to everyone
Who said we never had a chance
Here's to us
To all we loved
And all we lost
To everyone
Here's to us (here's to us)
To broken dreams
And kings and queens
To everyone raise your glass
Here's to us
To all we loved
And all we lost
To everyone
Here's to us (here's to us)
To broken dreams
And kings and queens
To everyone raise your glass
Here's to us
The lyrics to Kevin Rudolf's "Here's To Us" are a celebration of life, despite its many challenges and disappointments. The song recognizes that everyone has a story to tell, that everyone has experienced pain and glory at some point. The opening verse acknowledges the importance of personal narratives while also emphasizing the universality of human experiences.
The second verse suggests that there is a type of magic that comes out at night when one is feeling lonely or lost. The music, the heartbeats of others, and the memories of better times work together to turn things around. The chorus is an uplifting tribute to persevering through adversity, appreciating what we had, and celebrating what is to come.
The bridge speaks to the importance of holding onto dreams, even in the face of setbacks. The song wraps up with a reiteration of the chorus, with a final flourish inviting the listeners to raise their glasses in a toast to life and all it has to offer.
Overall, "Here's To Us" is a song that celebrates the human experience as a whole, recognizing that there will be highs and lows, but also moments of pure magic. It encourages listeners to keep going and keep dreaming, no matter what life throws their way.

I think this is the type of music we should hear in the radio most. Instead of all that cash, pussy, and drugs crap. This song is amazing and so is Kevin!

You are so correct, but is there any way you would consider removing the "P...." word in your comment before the "and drugs..." I can't share this song now with my children and a spiritual friend of mine because of the sexual reference you place there in this comment. :( I hope you are offended by my request but I come here to get away from those kinds of things. Wishing you the best!

I think this is one of the most beautiful songs out there. The message within the lyrics is what makes a song worth listening to. Here's to us, please let's respect one another as humans. Let's also respect our surrounding, our environment, because without it, we are nothing.
