Ooh ooh
Ooh ooh
Ooh ooh
And I hate that I hate that
You're happy without me
And I pray and I pray
And I hate that I hate that
You're happy without me
And I pray and I pray
I just hate that you're happy
Ooh ooh
Ooh ooh
And I hate that I hate that
You're happy without me

The lyrics of Key TAEYEON's song "Hate That" express the pain of a broken heart after a breakup. The singer feels like she is nobody to her ex-partner and that her memories have been replaced with someone else. Even looking at pictures of their time together is hard for her as she is reminded of her pain. Meanwhile, her ex-partner seems to be moving on without any problems and is happy with someone else. The singer wishes that her ex-partner could feel the same amount of pain and suffering that she is going through. She hopes that her ex-partner will realize how much they loved her and what they have lost now that she is gone. The lyrics are relatable to anyone who has ever experienced heartbreak and the feeling of wanting their ex-partner back.
Overall, "Hate That" is a song about the pain of heartbreak and the desire to be loved and appreciated by someone who has moved on with their life. The lyrics show how much the singer was invested in her relationship and how much she is still hurting even after the breakup. The song is a reminder that even when relationships come to an end, the feelings and emotions that went into them can linger on for a long time.

MV Theory
(1) Key and Taeyeon represent the same person, but two parts/stages (feelings) of the break-up; Key is the part who wants to just escape his feelings (hence he’s leaving in a spaceship) and Taeyeon, who is stuck in the same place because she still cannot let go of her feelings.
Key hitting the eject button to go back implies that though he wants to run away, he cannot suppress/ignore the fact that he’s still in love and wants to save the relationship. So, he returns and the scene changes to Taeyeon (the can & the reflection are the symbolism that they are the same person). Key became Taeyeon (not wanting to leave the broken relationship because he’s still in love). At this point, the feeling of wanting to keep their feelings overpowers wanting to let go of them, so both are shown in the same frame.
But this is also shown to be a possible cycle through the café scene, where now Key is waiting, still stuck in his feelings, but the other part of him (Taeyeon) is shown to be leaving.
So, this song is basically showing the mixed emotions of wanting to keep their feelings and also wanting to let go; the ups and downs of moments in which one of those feelings is stronger than the other, and how one stage becomes the other, on a painful loop.
The last vague bit about the "breaking news about the woman rescued after be-" could be an indication that the cycle was broken and the person was able to let go of their feelings and escape the loop as the love keeping them stuck finally faded. The news shows Taeyeon (and not Key) because she is the stage/part that is able to leave.
[or, another probable theory:]
(2) Two aftermaths of a break-up are shown through Key and Taeyeon who are going through their own, independent broken relationships.
Key is shown as the aftermath in which he tries to deal with the break-up by trying to run away from the pain and not face the break-up altogether, or try to accept it and leave the relationship. But that lasts only for a while as trying to run away from the pain also means to run away from the fact that he’s still very much in love. He doesn’t want to accept the break-up and hopes to save the relationship. So, he ejects from the spaceship and returns. But now he’s stuck just waiting for the person.
Taeyeon is shown as the aftermath in which she waits for the person in one place, indicating that she’s still in love and is waiting for the other person, but to no avail. This whole ordeal finally makes her let go and walk away.
In both aftermaths, there is common ground—both of them try to wait it out and give it another chance. It’s almost like they have no choice but to do that because they are still in love and feel stuck, unable to escape their own feelings. But it happens at different points for both of them. Key comes to that stage after trying to walk away, and Taeyeon passes that stage before she is able to walk away.
The news bit says the woman was rescued, which confirms that she was able to move on from the relationship successfully.
This means that there is no choice but to face the pain of the break-up if you want to move on.
