Light up the floor
Out on my way to you (hmm, hmm, oh-oh)
You should see me tonight
I'm at your door
Got something to say to you
Yeah, yeah
It's like I met you before (oh-oh)
Caught up in the moment (oh)
Caught up in the moment, I know I am (oh-oh)
Yeah
I can hear you calling, yeah, yeah
Too much, now I'm all in, yeah, yeah
Dive into your ocean, yeah, yeah
Leave your schedule open, whoa, whoa
I can hear you calling, yeah, yeah
Too much, now I'm all in, yeah, yeah
Dive into your ocean, yeah, yeah
Leave your schedule open, whoa, whoa
You look perfect
Got sparks in your eyes (whoa)
Love's hard to find
Both of us know that's the truth (truth, ooh, ooh)
Baby, put my plans to the side
You will be just fine
Especially when I'm next you (ooh)
Mm-hmm
Have I seen you in another life? (It's no pressure)
It's like I met you before (just don't hurt me)
Never been so open
Caught up in the moment, I know I am, yeah
I can hear you calling, yeah, yeah
Too much, now I'm all in, yeah, yeah
Dive into your ocean, yeah, yeah
Leave your schedule open, whoa, whoa
I can hear you calling, yeah, yeah
Too much, now I'm all in, yeah, yeah
Dive into your ocean, yeah, yeah
Leave your schedule open, whoa, whoa
I can hear you calling (I can hear you, ooh, ooh)
Too much, now I'm all in (in)
Dive into your ocean (dive into your ocean)
Leave tomorrow open (yeah, yeah)
I can hear you calling, yeah, yeah (I can hear you calling)
Too much, now I'm all in, yeah, yeah (too much, now I'm all in)
Dive into your ocean, yeah, yeah (dive into your ocean)
Leave your schedule open, whoa, whoa (leave tomorrow open)
Whoa, whoa
Ooh-ooh
I can hear you
Baby
Leave your schedule open
Your pretty brown eyes keeping me open
I don't what to say
But I know how it feels
The lyrics to Khalid's song "Open" seem to express a sense of anticipation and excitement about a new relationship. The song begins with the mention of a full moon outside, creating a romantic atmosphere. The singer is on their way to see someone they are interested in, and they mention that they have something important to say. This suggests that they are eager to express their feelings and intentions to the person they are about to meet.
The chorus of the song emphasizes the strong connection between the two individuals. The singer can hear the other person calling, indicating a desire for their presence and attention. They are fully committed, willing to dive into the other person's metaphorical ocean and leave their schedule open, showing their willingness to prioritize the relationship. The repetition of "yeah, yeah" in the chorus adds an emphasis on their eagerness and enthusiasm.
Verse two explores the idea of familiarity and déjà vu. The singer wonders if they have met the person before or if they have encountered them in another life. This hints at a possible deep connection or a sense of destiny between them. Despite this hint of uncertainty, the singer expresses a willingness to be open and vulnerable. They acknowledge that they have never been this open before and are caught up in the moment, fully aware of their feelings for the other person.
Overall, the lyrics of "Open" convey a sense of anticipation, excitement, and vulnerability in a new relationship. The singer is eager to express their feelings, willing to prioritize the relationship, and open to the possibility of a deep connection.
