The band have released four studio albums, "Trickster" (1998), "Zerøspace" (2002), and "Trypt0fanatic" (2010). An EP "The Invisible Plan" (2011). And a remix EP "Phi In The Sky" (2001), released in between "Trickster" & "Zerøspace".
The band re-released "Trickster" as "Trickstereprocess" in 2004, which included 5 new bonus tracks, along with a bonus DVD. After the release of "Trickstereprocess", the group called it quits and went their separate ways. Free Dominguez went on to create an indie project while Bruce Somers created the band Shocknina.
In January of 2007, Free Dominguez sent out a newsletter via email stating that she and Bruce are collaborating once again on brand new Kidneythieves material. These sessions resulted in the brand new album "Tryptofanatic".
Kidneythieves have hired bassist Mirv Douglas and are working on their new EP "The Invisible Plan" to be released in October 2011.
Taxicab Messiah
Kidneythieves Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
My god never noticed a sin
My god grew and killed the daises
My god threw the towel in
My god is weird my god is scared my god paints a pretty picture of fear
He's driving in gear.
One day got sick of hailing mary's
Told me you were good a fortune telling
Said too much, threw the towel in
Paid for my ride
Told him we could take the long way
Held on to everything he said
Wanted insight or an answer
Pointed the rear-view at my head
All in all, what does it mean?
In "Taxicab Messiah," Kidneythieves explores the concept of God and religion, specifically confronting the idea that many religious institutions are exclusionary in nature, often neglecting to practice the love and acceptance that they preach. The lyrics emphasize the singer's vision of a God who is radically different from what many people might expect; a God who "loved the whores and babies," and "never noticed a sin." This points to a vision of a deity who is fundamentally accepting and sees the good in all people, regardless of their supposed "sins."
As the song progresses, the singer's vision of God becomes increasingly complex as they describe a deity who is both "weird" and "scared," but who is also able to paint a "pretty picture of fear." This can be interpreted as a reference to the idea that religious institutions often use fear and intimidation to control their followers, while at the same time claiming to offer comfort and safety. The line "He's driving in gear" could be a metaphor for the idea that God is constantly moving forward, even in the face of fear and uncertainty.
The final verse brings the listener back to the titular taxicab, with the singer addressing the driver directly. The driver is portrayed as a modern-day prophet or oracle, with the ability to "tell fortunes" and offer insights into the mysteries of life. However, the singer ultimately decides to "throw in the towel," suggesting that they have given up on finding definitive answers or meaning, instead choosing to "hold on to everything he said" and continue moving forward.
Overall, "Taxicab Messiah" is a powerful expression of the complexities of faith and religion, highlighting the need for acceptance and compassion in the face of an often hostile and unforgiving world.

I'm Indrid Cold
You know her voice has always been unique, her photos and visual like videos are so great,I know the lyrics in this song and many others get people going wtf. But one thing I can say undoubtedly is Free Dominguez is a really nice person and seems to appreciate not only art and beauty but always sends a like it comment to people who post even a song from a soundtrack not knowing who she is. I think that makes up for the sometimes random and did lyrics as we don't often get that from people..The cool thing is that lyrics seem to be the only complaint I see on any videos too :pThanks for posting this video its a hard one to find!
