Eleven Kidz Bop albums have been released to date. Each album features different pop music songs, played with music similar to the original, and with the "Kidz Bop Kids" singing instead of the original artist. Albums are typically released within a few months of each other and thus the songs included tend to be the hit songs of the current time, including such songs such as "Float On" (Modest Mouse), "This Love" (Maroon 5), and "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" (Green Day).
Although the albums are marketed as being "sanitized" versions of popular songs for children, many of the songs featured on the Kidz Bop albums still contain explicit sexual material, such as Rob Thomas's "Lonely No More," which some people consider inappropriate for younger audiences. Other featured songs, such as "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", contain profanity. Although the albums censor the actual word from the song, the context of the profanity remains. They also covered Green Day's hit "Wake Me Up When September Ends", which is about death.
The Kidz Bop video for their cover of Avril Lavigne's "Sk8r Boi", for instance, features the song being sung by a pre-teen girl in heavy make-up, fishnet stockings, and a Sex Pistols t-shirt.

Here comes the sun
And I say it's alright
Little darling
It's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling
It feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun
And I say it's alright
Little darling
The smile's returning to the faces
Little darling
It seems like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun
And I say it's alright
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Little darling
I feel that ice is slowly melting
Little darling
It seems like years since it's been clear
Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun
And I say it's alright
Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun
"Here Comes the Sun" by the Beatles, which is covered by Kidz Bop, is a classic tune that is beloved by audiences of all ages. This song is essentially a promise of a new beginning and the arrival of a new day. The lyrics describe an optimistic view of the future after a long dark winter, a metaphor for a difficult time in life that has finally ended. The arrival of the sun represents hope and brings joy to the faces of the people who have longed for its return. The sun is also seen as a catalyst for melting away the icy feelings people have been carrying around during the difficult winter months.
The phrase "little darling" is repeated throughout the lyrics, and it has significance in that the singer is likely referring to someone he cares about deeply, perhaps a lover or a friend. The repetition of "here comes the sun" strengthens the overall message that things are going to get better and that something great is about to happen. The way the lyrics describe the arrival of the sun is almost childlike in its simplicity, which makes it easy for listeners to relate to and understand the message.
