Eleven Kidz Bop albums have been released to date. Each album features different pop music songs, played with music similar to the original, and with the "Kidz Bop Kids" singing instead of the original artist. Albums are typically released within a few months of each other and thus the songs included tend to be the hit songs of the current time, including such songs such as "Float On" (Modest Mouse), "This Love" (Maroon 5), and "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" (Green Day).
Although the albums are marketed as being "sanitized" versions of popular songs for children, many of the songs featured on the Kidz Bop albums still contain explicit sexual material, such as Rob Thomas's "Lonely No More," which some people consider inappropriate for younger audiences. Other featured songs, such as "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", contain profanity. Although the albums censor the actual word from the song, the context of the profanity remains. They also covered Green Day's hit "Wake Me Up When September Ends", which is about death.
The Kidz Bop video for their cover of Avril Lavigne's "Sk8r Boi", for instance, features the song being sung by a pre-teen girl in heavy make-up, fishnet stockings, and a Sex Pistols t-shirt.
The Man
Kidz Bop Lyrics

Yeah you can tell everybody
Go ahead and tell everybody
I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man
Yes I am, yes I am, yes I am
I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man
I believe every lie that I ever told
I paid my cards and I didn’t fold
Well it ain’t that hard when you got soul (this is my world)
Somewhere I heard that life is a test
I been through the worst but still I give my best
God made my mold different from the rest
Then he broke that mold so I know I’m blessed (this is my world)
Stand up now and face the sun
Won’t hide my tail or turn and run
It’s time to do what must be done
Be a king when kingdom comes
Girl you can tell everybody
Yeah you can tell everybody
Go ahead and tell everybody
I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man
Girl you can tell everybody
Yeah you can tell everybody
Go ahead and tell everybody
I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man
Yes I am, yes I am, yes I am
I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man
I got all the answers to your questions
I’ll be the teacher, this could be the lesson
I’ll be the preacher, this is my confession
I’ll be the quick relief to all your stressing (this is my world)
It’s a thin line between love and hate
Is you really real or is you really fake
I’m a solider standing on my feet
No surrender and I won’t retreat (this is my world)
Stand up now and face the sun
Won’t hide my tail or turn and run
It’s time to do what must be done
Be a king when kingdom comes
Girl you can tell everybody
Yeah you can tell everybody
Go ahead and tell everybody
I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man
Boy you can tell everybody
Yeah you can tell everybody
Go ahead and tell everybody
I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man
Yes I am, yes I am, yes I am
I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man
I’m the man
Go ahead and tell everybody what I’m saying y’all
I’m the man
Go ahead and tell everybody what I’m saying y’all
Well you can tell everybody
Yeah you can tell everybody
Go ahead and tell everybody
I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man
Boy you can tell everybody
Yeah you can tell everybody
Go ahead and tell everybody
I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man
Yes I am, yes I am, yes I am
I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man
The Kidz Bop remix of "The Man" is a refreshing take on the original song by music artist Aloe Blacc. The lyrics suggest a sense of self-assurance and confidence, as the artist proclaims to be the man repeatedly. He tells the listener to go ahead and tell everyone that he is indeed the man. The song's upbeat tempo and catchy chorus make it fun and easy to sing along to.
The verse talks about the mistakes he has made in his life. He has lied to people and even stolen hearts. However, he has paid for these mistakes and moved on. He emphasizes that it's not that hard to move on if you have soul. He talks about his strengths and individuality, saying that he is different from the rest and blessed because of his unique abilities.
The chorus is repeated several times, expressing the singer's self-assurance and confidence. He doesn't shy away from the spotlight and is proud to be who he is. The second verse is about his ability to answer any question, teach people new things, and be a source of quick relief to stress. He talks about the ambiguity of love and hate, emphasizing that he is always standing like a soldier, and will never back down or surrender. He repeats the chorus again, maintaining the same energy and vibe.
Overall, the song's message is about self-confidence and self-assurance. The artist claims to be the man, and his repeated refrain leaves no room for doubt. The song is upbeat, fun, and a great dance track. Kids and teens can easily relate to the lyrics and find empowerment in them. The song may be a bit bold, but it encourages us to be proud of who we are and our abilities, no matter what others might say.
