Eleven Kidz Bop albums have been released to date. Each album features different pop music songs, played with music similar to the original, and with the "Kidz Bop Kids" singing instead of the original artist. Albums are typically released within a few months of each other and thus the songs included tend to be the hit songs of the current time, including such songs such as "Float On" (Modest Mouse), "This Love" (Maroon 5), and "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" (Green Day).
Although the albums are marketed as being "sanitized" versions of popular songs for children, many of the songs featured on the Kidz Bop albums still contain explicit sexual material, such as Rob Thomas's "Lonely No More," which some people consider inappropriate for younger audiences. Other featured songs, such as "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", contain profanity. Although the albums censor the actual word from the song, the context of the profanity remains. They also covered Green Day's hit "Wake Me Up When September Ends", which is about death.
The Kidz Bop video for their cover of Avril Lavigne's "Sk8r Boi", for instance, features the song being sung by a pre-teen girl in heavy make-up, fishnet stockings, and a Sex Pistols t-shirt.
What Makes You Beautiful

Don't know what for
You're turning heads when you walk through the door
Don't need makeup, to cover up
Being the way that you are is enough
Everyone else in the room can see it
Everyone else but you
The way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed
But when you smile at the ground it ain't hard to tell
You don't know, oh oh
You don't know you're beautifu
If only you saw what I can see
You'll understand why I want you so desperately
Right now I'm looking at you and I can't believe
You don't know, oh oh
You don't know you're beautiful, oh oh
That's what makes you beautiful
So come on, you got it wrong
To prove I'm right, I put it in a song
I don't know why, you're being shy
And turn away when I look into your eyes
Everyone else in the room can see it
Everyone else but you
Baby you light up my world like nobody else
The way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed
But when you smile at the ground it ain't hard to tell
You don't know, oh oh
You don't know you're beautiful
If only you saw what I can see
You'll understand why I want you so desperately
Right now I'm looking at you and I can't believe
You don't know, oh oh
You don't know you're beautiful, oh oh
That's what makes you beautiful
Na-na-na-na-na-na-na
Na-na-na-na-na-na-na
Na-na-na-na-na-na-na
Na-na-na-na-na-na-na
Baby you light up my world like nobody else
The way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed
But when you smile at the ground it ain't hard to tell
You don't know, oh oh
You don't know you're beautiful
You light up my world like nobody else
The way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed
But when you smile at the ground it ain't hard to tell
You don't know, oh oh
You don't know you're beautiful
If only you saw what I can see
You'll understand why I want you so desperately
Right now I'm looking at you and I can't believe
You don't know, oh oh
You don't know you're beautiful, oh oh
You don't know you're beautiful, oh oh
That's what makes you beautiful
"What Makes You Beautiful" is a song about insecurity and self-doubt that is causing the subject of the song to overlook the qualities that make them attractive. The lyrics describe how the person's appearance and actions are admired by everyone else in the room, except for themselves. The singer, who is clearly interested in the subject, wants them to see themselves through his eyes and understand how beautiful they are. The chorus repeats the phrase "you don't know you're beautiful" as a way of emphasizing the main message of the song.
The verse "Baby you light up my world like nobody else" portrays the subject as being unique and special, with an ability to brighten up the world. The line "The way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed" depicts how the subject's natural mannerisms are appealing to others. However, the song also acknowledges that the subject is unaware of their beauty, as expressed in the line "But when you smile at the ground it ain't hard to tell / You don't know, oh oh / You don't know you're beautiful."
In conclusion, "What Makes You Beautiful" is a pop song about the importance of self-esteem and accepting oneself. It advises listeners to embrace their unique qualities and appreciate themselves for who they are.
