Like many around him, watching the men do odd jobs and logging instilled a strong work ethic in King B. As well as making him realize he could work hard on his own goals instead of waiting on someone to hire him to do their projects. King B’s music draws from many real life experiences. His Grandfather was a neighborhood entrepreneur in charge of running a lawn mower shop during the day that also doubled as a joke joint at night. This was King B’s introduction to hustling. Although you can find an unlimited amount of hustlers in the rap game, not since Tupac has one been able to capture raw emotion in sound…until now!

Some compare King B to 2pac, some say he has the raw street-edge and gangster’ style of early Master P, and even a way of delivering street knowledge reminiscent of Pastor Troy. I say it’s all of these characteristics and a few other unique personality traits that make King B a well rounded young up-and-comer. By taking lesions from the success and failure of other recording artists, King B has been able to adapt his sound to be club friendly with that official southern gangster-lean. Like Master P, 2pac, and Biggie, the King B sound is original and expressive. Although one or two liberties may have been taken with names and dates on the album, this is a firsthand account of the harsh reality that is felt by those on the bottom of the U.S. social ladder.
With street sense and country wisdom King B makes rap music fun and interesting again. This is true Hip-Hop Story Telling at its best. Though as usual this album takes us to the dark side of human nature, it surprisingly shows us a glimpse of the better points of living in the hood as well. With a strong love for his community King B is the perfect one to tell the story of Logtown.
